I was replying to one of my posts about ticks and it gave me the idea for this one. It's all about getting dressed to go out to the garden. While you are still inside, put on sunscreen... face and arms. 1. Dress in an old tank top and a pair of scrubs. Go out to to the garage. 2. Put on short sleeved paint shirt over the tank top. 3. Take off scrubs, hang them up and put on an old pair of jeans that you can spray with deet the minute you head outside. Before you head out pull on a pair of white socks and tuck jeans inside. Now pull on a pair of rubber boots and tuck jeans inside the boots. Put on sun hat and sunglasses and out you go! When you come inside... leave everything out in the garage and come in wearing the tank top and the scrubs. If I have missed anything, feel free to point it out!! Trust me... you think that's going over board?? We still don't know how that tick got inside darling daughter's clothes to be able to bite her but it did!

We do not have them thankfully in England but I understand they are particularly nasty in Scotland.

If that is the case, I'm telling hubby to put in a request for him to be transferred. That is where he grew up, so I think that its do-able lol!

I don't think that a minute doesn't go by when I'm not checking out the cause of the latest itch!

It is definitely a pain in the neck... and we are getting sick of it... especially when you aren't sure that it's enough!

Darling daughter told me yesterday that she read that they can't jump or fly, but they have these sticky pads on their feet and they are just waiting for you to walk by and then bang... they've got you.

Those ticks are creepy - but they will find their ways. I'm afraid I'm not patient enough to do much more than spray down with bug spray. :-)

We stocked up but apparently they still find a way around it. It really takes the fun out of summer!! ;(

@Hate2Iron I think it takes the really strong bug spray - but that stuff is hard to find and I don't know if it's good for a person - but then, neither are tick bites

For me my body alerts me when a bug, tick or anything is on me. It's just a sensation I can feel. Fortunately, I have had very few instances with ticks or fleas or other insects on my person.

I can itch... for no reason at all. Yesterday... all day, I was sure that I could feel something on my foot... and nothing!!

@Hate2Iron I do that to. Maybe that's a good thing our skin is so sensitive. We have a built in tick defense system
