Her Heart is Fine

I just got back from the ER with my sister. They ran a bunch of tests and determined that her heart is fine. So that's a relief! The doctor said that most likely the cause of her chest pain is anxiety. Which it could very well be, but I think she still needs to get her primary doctor to rule other things out. Digestive problems like gallstones or GERD also cause chest pain. Anyway, I'm glad it's not her heart and she's relieved too. Her heart rate and blood pressure were high but came down to normal once she found out her heart was fine. I'm glad she got checked and hopefully will have peace of mind that her heart at least is okay. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

It certainly is better to be safe than sorry. I think she should check it out with her primary doctor. I can tell you that gall bladder pain is horrendous. She doesn't want a full blown attack of that.

I will keep encouraging her to follow up with her doctor. Even if it's not her heart, there could be something else going on.

Glad to hear that they ruled out anything with her heart. I hope that it the case. I was told that many times in the ER and even by the cardiologist before I had my heart attack. I hope they find out what it causing her to have chest pain.

See, that is what worries me the most about chest pain. My cardiologist also reassures me that my heart is fine but what if there's something they're missing? I worry about that with my sister too. Fortunately heart disease does not run in our family, so hopefully that is a good sign for both of us.

Anxiety as well as all these other things can certainly make one feel as if they are having a heart attack. It is good to know that is not what it is, but she should have other things checked.

It is nice to hear that she is fine. It is better to have an executive check up and be on the safe side.

That is good then Stacey to find out it is not your sisters heart. I hope she will go to her doctor now then about the possible other issues.

I hope so too. I will keep nagging her about it and will go with her if she needs moral support or someone to be an advocate for her.

I think doctors are too quick to jump on the whole "it's anxiety" thing.
