Favorite 80's Metal Songs #3 - "Paris is Burning"

Loud guitars you want, loud guitars is what you are going to get! #3 in my Favorite 80's Metal Songs series belongs to yet another band making it's first appearance in one of my music countdowns: Dokken, with "Paris is Burning." This is a live version of "Paris is Burning," recorded in Berlin, and was available on the 1983 release of their debut record, Breaking the Chains ( an earlier version of that album features the song as the studio version, simply called "Paris.") Dokken had an enviable string of hit songs in the 80's , however, "Paris is Burning" was not one of them, having not been released as a single. Although they did not glam up as extremely as others, I think Dokken was the best of the hair metal bands. As far as hair band vocalists go, I consider Don Dokken as the best of the lot, and I have the same feelings about guitarist George Lynch. Despite the fact that they did not like each other, the band put out some great metal in the 1980's. (Fun Fact: a friend of mine went to see Dokken when they were still an up and coming band. Said they weren't that great. The next day, it was revealed that the bandmember's all had high fevers and were very sick, but came out and played a full set. That's professionalism!) The link is to the live version, and features a tasty George Lynch guitar solo at the beginning of the song. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

Yes! But why did they set Pairs on Fire, should have been DC for sure.

Paris, I think, sounds much more natural than DC.

@teamfreak16 I know, why does it have to burn and not DC?

The show must go on - always. I remember Paris is Burning, but never liked ultra loud music.

That's a cool opening guitar riff, and the drums are great.

Mick Brown, not to be confused with original Mission drummer Mick Brown, is the drummer.

@teamfreak16 -- love those names you have to clarify: "Mick Jones...the Clash guitarist, not that guy in Foreigner."

@FourWalls - Whenever I see Mick Jones in a credit, I always check to see which one. Except for Big Audio Dynamite.

It wasn't a hit, but I think it's their best song.
