The environmental shoes

Rothy's

I don't know that shoes can be made from recycled plastic water bottles and they can also look so elegant. And it is comfortable to wear them. This is a good idea as we have created a lot of wasted bottles everyday. Rothy's is such a brand. I just looked at its website. But its price is not so attractive. It is $125-145. Perhaps the environmental products are usually much more expensive..

That's expensive for flats... Maybe because it's harder or more costly to process materials to make them or something.

@youless Yeah, but I guess the process to turn them from rubbish to useful recycled material is what costs so much...

That's a pity. Many people should buy them but only few will with such high prices.

In the Philippines we have sandals made from recycled tires, they are very strong and durable.

This is good! I think here is the same, but the sellers may not want to tell the buyers that the sandals are made from the recycled tires

@louievill I read it. The link, the video, the blog really inspired me. Now I know more about the Philippines. Your response was too informative to me. Amazing shoes production! My contacts with you are too positive and fruitful. So thanks a lot!

They are nice, but surely very bad for our feet, plastic is not a material that let feet "breath".

I look at its description and it seems this material can let the feet “breath". I think they have some special treatment for the material.

It may be that they are more expensive because there is more of a demand, or it may be that it is an expensive process to make them.

It's a real shame they are so expensive because if they were less expensive they would sell more of them thereby getting rid of more plastic bottles! My husband and I are blessed by God for sure we have all we need and then some, but in all honesty if I could afford to spend that kind of money on shoes I wouldn't! Thats just plain ridiculous and greedy!

I wish they could offer a reasonable price for these shoes. It is a good idea to take advantage of the plastic bottles, but not all the customers can afford this price.

It's too bad the shoes are so expensive otherwise people would buy them. Someone should invent a cheap way to repurpose plastic.
