Murder in the Family

I'm seeing the most shocking stories in newspapers and on TV news. I'm almost tempted stop reading the newspapers and watching the news. But it's happening whether I watch it or not. I suppose most of you saw the news about the mother who stabbed to death her husband and four of her children. The fifth child survived the attack and is in the hospital if she hasn't been sent home. And that's another thing. Where will this poor child call home? If you saw the woman's hearing in court then you saw what a spectacle she made of herself. She smiled and waved to the camera crew and behaved as if she was the happiest woman in the world. The judge had to tell her to sit down and pay attention. The saddest thing is that if she is a mental case and if she ever recovers she will have to live the rest of her life with the knowledge that she murdered her children and their father. The picture above, if it submits, is flowers in my living room. Just seeing if it will submit.

I have to stop watching and reading news at some points. My depression gets too bad. I hope this child you speak of has a good extended family and that someone steps up to take her. I didn't see anything about this. A lot of times these people go undetected for a long time. THey don't get in and get evaluated and put on meds that would have helped this woman probably. She may schizophrenic and listening to voices. The right medication would have saved her family.

@RubyHawk .......Many people don't believe in psychiatrists and medications too. I didn't.

@celticeagle I'm not sure of psychiatry but in a case like this if possible she should have been evaluated. But unless you have good insurance you cannot see a doctor.

That's exactly what I think. I believe it didn't happen overnight and was probably a long time coming. The father might have known but had no way to get help for her.

Oh my! That is one sad story. How can a mother kill her own children? That is insane.

@RubyHawk I couldn't find the video of her in court. Has she said why she did what she did?

@1hopefulman I didn't hear that she said anything about the murders. She might not know what she did. She was smiling in the courtroom an giving the camera crew a thumbs up. Like she was at a party.

She is insane. If you saw her in court you wouldn't doubt it. She looked happy as a lark and the judge had to ask her to cool it.

It's weird all right I think she's completely insane. I don't believe she will spend any time in prison but you never know.

One day, that child has a father, mother, a home and four siblings. The next day, in a hospital bed healing up from painful knife wounds, inflicted by her own mother, now without brothers, sisters, or a father! And then what happened, where will she end up, that's heart-breaking news! Then, they wonder what's wrong with our children and point their finger at them, for not getting it right:(

@kobesbuddy Thanks for the compliment. It's the funniest thing, or odd would be more like it, but when this discussion first submitted the picture wasn't there, but when I came back to answer comments , there was my picture.

It is indeed horrible to hear and read this kind of news. I am wondering nowadays what happened to our societies. Murders news, every where.

Sometimes I wonder if it's worse now or if it seems that way because we now see news from all over the world, and at an earlier time we hardly knew what was happening in the next city. It would be interesting to see what the crime rate was in 1900 compared to now.

@thelme55 We hear all the bad things that happen. It would be nice if good news was sprinkled in.among the bad.

@RubyHawk I am interested to know about that too. Maybe it is worse now because we are bombarded with the social media sites and TV news nowadays.

I did not see the flowers. But we need blossoms in this world, so filled with violence.

Sounds like a mental case. The husband was probably sleeping, otherwise he might have been able to defend himself.

Your photo submitted, but it is not straight. This woman surely has a mental problem and it's sad that nobody notice before she committed this tragic thing.

Sadly these things happen alot. And even if she isnt mental, she'll fake that she is in court. Poor kids, especially the one still alive
