Brushing my teeth with athlete's foot cream

As you know, my sick mind goes in many strange directions. This morning, I stumbled into the bathroom and then decided it was time to brush my teeth. I reached for my Colgate tooth paste and was about to put it on my brush when I realized I was holding a tube of athlete's foot cream.
That got me to thinking about what would happen if I actually brushed my teeth with athlete's foot cream. Babies get thrush, and thrush is treated with anti-fungal creams. When I stumbled back to my desk, I Googled "babies thrush treatment" and found that most common anti-fungals can be used to treat thrush, though certain ones are preferred.
If you were somewhere where you couldn't get to a store, and your baby had bad thrush, would you be so bold as to put a little athlete's foot medicine on her tongue? It might or might not work, but it sounds like it wouldn't be dangerous.

Move those items away from where your hand reaches to.
My x brother in law used Ben Gay on his teeth. I was happy.

Yuk! I remember that many decades ago, my grandmother thought that a hair creme I had was toothpaste and she actually placed it in her mouth before noticing. Your cream is worse!!!

@marguicha I wonder how long it took to get the sensation out of her mouth. I'm tempted to try bit of athlete's foot cream, just to see what it tastes like. Heck, I've eaten horse cookies, horse feed, etc.

Some people just use things without thinking. I hope that nobody actually tries this one!

@TheHorse I use toilet bowl cleaner to cut through the calcium build-up.
Wise to stop the bengay abuse!

@ElusiveButterfly Yep, it works in my tub as well as my toilet. I have not and will not try it for self-abuse.

Good information for those with babies. Glad you didn't actually start brushing your teeth with that cream. I was always sleepy in the early morning I had to get ready to go to high school. One morning I took a mouthful of nail polish remover instead of mouth wash. Luckily I spit it all out and spent a half hour rinsing my mouth

@akalinus glad I realized what I had in my mouth before anything else happened.

Eeek! I would not attempt. I'd go to the doctors or something if I had a child. :)

@TheHorse Maybe you need to move the foot cream to a different room

@AbbyGreenhill Yeah, but then I'd wind up with "non-itchy" teeth. That's the next tube I'd have to move.

NOOOO! I will now look up a natural growing plant to treat a babies mouth and since I have many books on wild growing plants I could still look it up without the internet.
The problem is the baby has a high yeast content its body so the way, without looking it up, would be to make sure no sugars were consumed to start with.

@andriaperry Mommy's ilk is probably good, for the most part. At least I hope so!

@TheHorse Yes, the balance is off though and different than what is in foods or juice that is given to the baby.

You made me smile, because one time I actually put cream hair tonic, from a tube, on my toothbrush! lol After washing it numerous times, I had to throw the toothbrush away, the horrible oily taste was permanent!

All kinds of people with weakened immune systems get thrush. They used to use Jimson Violet for it. I would read the label of the antifungal carefully first. Either one of those cures is less expensive than some of the oral antifungals they give.

I once sprayed shaving foam under my armpit thinking it was deodorant.
Personally I wouldn't risk putting athlete's foot cream on a baby's tongue. I suspect somewhere on the package it might contain some sort of warning along the lines of 'for external use only'. Maybe strengths and/or active ingredients differ for use on babies!

Are you trying to prevent an outbreak of foot and mouth disease in Horse Towers?

@asfarasiknow Actresses are like annoying fungi in my morning news feed. I don't care what they wore to some gala affair.

Perhaps known better as candida albicans. Or is that an actress?
