Found a kitty today

There was a small kitten up inside our car this morning. Lucky my fiance heard her before he started the car. He brought her in the house. She was so cute and so tiny. She was covered in dirt and starving. We fed her and gave her some water. We already have two cats so we couldn't keep her. She was only about 7 weeks old. We called the Animal Rescue League and they said the would take her. As soon as they seen her the fell in love with her. They said they would bath her and clean her up and get her a good home. I can't believe that somebody would throw away a small kitten like that and expect it to fend for itself. Some people are so cruel.

I am glad that you found her when you did. Glad they will find a home for her and I hope they spay her too.

@Happy2BeMe oh well that's understandable then. I'm in a house so I have the space and freedom to have more. I wasn't supposed to get our last cat, Sandy, but I just couldn't resist the poor little ravaged thing. He was found under a dumpster all by himself just after Hurricane Sandy at 5 weeks old, clearly separated from his Mama and litter mates. He has some issues with the litter box and severe separation anxiety (due to the trauma of the storm and being prematurely separated from his mother and litter) but he is also our most attentive and affectionate cat. When I want to take a nap, Sandy will always be there to snuggle up in my arms with me. I'm glad I didn't say no to him.

@NJChicaa awww what a beautiful story. I sm glad you were able to give Sandy a forever homr.
My kitty Merle I brought in after a neighbor threw him out. Sadly there is a lot of that around here. There are just so many stray cats running around because people move and leave their cats behind. I cried all the way to the Animal Rescue League today because I felt bad bringing her there. It broke my heart.

People are awful! I'm sure the kitten will find a great home! I have 4 cats.. but if I found a baby kitten like that I'd probably keep it anyway.

@Happy2BeMe Yeah.. my mom had the same situation.. she had 6 cats anyway, LOL. When they came to do work on the apartment she'd send 4 of them off to a friend's house temporarily.

I feel ya @Happy2BeMe . My daughter said someone threw out 5-2 week-old kittens on the sidewalk in front of where she works. Their eyes aren't even open and laying on the hot cement? Someone needs to beat the sh*t out of these kinds of people.

We had a neighbor kitten living under our front porch, to get out of the bitter cold winter weather:( Luckily, our kind neighbor lady took it in and loves it to pieces!

Aww, it seems like she came to the right place! My sister adopted a stray that was living under her deck for about a year. They were initially going to take it to a rescue org. but because the cat has some issues, is mostly deaf, and only has one tooth..and a misshappen mouth, the rescue org was going to put it down. Sis said no thanks we will keep her..and although the cat is an odd little thing..with a loud meow..she is happy with them, and they with her.

It's possible that if she was a stray she got away from her mother and couldn't find her way back. I ended up with one like that and found out where she had come from 6 months later when the vegetable shop down the road adopted her brother. The people who fed the strays thought one kitten had gotten out and probably been run over. She had crossed a wide street and ended up in my neighborhood where she found my house (I was feeding ferals outside). One of my cats led me to her and we took her in!
