A Long Time Ago

So, yeah, I haven't posted here in quite some time. Between work, family and just plain not feeling like it. Those are my excuses and I'm sticking with them. Right now I'm on vacation from work and pretty much doing nothing of great importance. Eating a lot and enjoying the relaxation. I can't say anything significant has happened in my life. The book was hoped to have published a year ago still isn't and most likely won't be. Having a talent in writing is not a guarantee of anything. It's a matter of luck, mostly. My granddaughter is now working at the hotel I work at and is doing great. She's front desk and doing Kickback (evening meal) so I get to see her more often, even if it's just a "hi" as we pass each other. Well I could talk politics or writing but I think for now I'll just be saying "hello" and maybe I'll be back. Or not.

You don't have to apologise for your absence. I see mylotting as a hobby, not an obligation. Why is an evening meal called 'kickback'? Please explain. English is not my native language.

I have no idea why they call it that. Maybe it means kick back and relax, but I'm not sure.

Maybe it will finally get published but I've been waiting just for the editing.

I think we all have times when we're busy and may not always feel like doing some things. It does happen, and can be kind of normal. I'm glad you came back to say hi.

Good to see you back! So the hotel renovations are completed? It's nice to hear your granddaughter is doing great working there now.

To make a long story short they tore down the older part of the hotel. Renovations on the newer part are supposed to start in August.
