So What Is Your Favorite Shopping Experience

The corporate mindset truly amazes me. Wow, do those people just think differently than me. It is almost like they are tryng to brainwash us to be all corporate and greedy. My title is a question I was just asked. I do get some people do love to shop. Most women really seem to love to shop. Some are like me who do find it a bit tedious and more like a chore. Just doing it because it needs to be done. I am just wondering though, how many ever actually take the time to look back and go, "gee, remember that one time when we went to Dillards and it was one of the best experiences we ever had. Like taking a trip to Disneyland." I am just not seeing it. Who really thinks like that and no offense to these corporate types but they need to get out more and see the world. Am I wrong in my thinking here? I know I am out there, but is this what we do now? If you do have a favorite shopping experience, please share because nothing stands out to me. I am curious as heck because maybe the point of the question went over my thick skull.

My favorite shopping experience: get in, get it, get out, get on with life. And I'm a woman.

Indeed, same here, maybe that is why we have no great shopping experiences. I do know many women who think like that also, but most seem to love to shop. I guess I could have said that one time all my friends went to Walmart all drunk at 2 in the morning, but do not remember much other than laughing. Everyone should go shopping drunk once. It is fun. That was the only time I ever liked shopping.

I get that, but made it sound like it was some kind of vacation or something. That is what I thought anyway when they asked.

@BelleStarr I heard about that place. Heard it was pretty cool. Malls are a dying breed in California, lots and lots of plaza's, but many malls are dying out. In our town it is a big deserted eye sore, well, small eye sore because has to be one of the smallest malls for a town with 80,000 people you have ever seen. Picture from Redlands Daily facts

The only great shopping experience I ever had was one Spring day I found this marvelous blue coat and I had to have it! Very unusual for me. Other than that one, I do not like my shopping experience.

There you go sometimes they say clothing tells a story and we end up needing them to be a part of our lives.

Sometimes, I feel it nice. Most of the times I shop when there are deals only. I just get in and get out with the advantages of the deals. But, the interesting part is, I take a casual shopping whenever I find leisure to keep the things in my mind and to plan for them.

It is good for when you want to get out of the house and need something to do.

Well, bike shops, naturally. And locally owned places.

Hobby and local shops can are fun, I was under the impression they wanted some kind of story. You know, like that one time that Billy Bob Dude talked me into buying a bunch of crap I did not need. That was a riot.

I used to love going to malls just to bum around, but those are dying or got converted into outdoor malls. I don't like shopping much cause now most of the time I'm broke...

That could be part of it, maybe it is actually fun if you have money to blow. Being poor sucks.

@crossbones27 yes, being poor does suck. But things used to be much cheaper too.

When I go shopping I look at something and say no we do not need that and pass it by. When I walk pass the item sometimes it jumps into the cart. That is my shopping experiences. Just how does that stuff get into the cart.

Anytime I manage to find a good deal on the things I really want and need is a great shopping experience for me.

I do not really consider that shopping though, even though it technically is, people are going for the sole purpose of enjoyment and everyone likes eating. Point noted though.

That is a good one. I should have said that, but they would have probably banned me from website saying not providing quality answers.

What I was into my business of selling things and had special places to go buy things I loved to go get things to test out to my customers. I felt like I was in my 2nd childhood and loved buying the things because I wanted to play with them too to show them how they are used. Now, I am tired and hate shopping for things.

It is fun for a bit, but seems to grow old when that is all we make it about.

@crossbones27 Some of the places that I got special deals closed down and then had to find new and had still some to go to, but, it got very tired running around and since I do not have human children I found it hard to thiink of what to buy. I almost missed spinners if someone did not point out why aren't they there so asked someone else and got some. Otherwise I buy things for weddings and moving and stuffed toys for kids and jewelry. Now I have a sale because have had some things around for quite some time and want to get rid of them and start over with lots of things at a minimum this time or sell what I have at home.
