You lost 2 loyal customers!

I made an appointment for my fiancé at the salon we normally get our hairs cut at. I asked when the next best time would be since we're free all day and I was told 11:30 AM. Sounds great, we arrived promptly at 11:20 AM and checked in. 11:35 AM came around and other guests with non-appointments were being helped first. I asked the front desk, did they have an appointment? She responded no. Well, why are we waiting longer with an appointment, arrived earlier and have to wait longer? She apologized and left it at that. That's bull, we walked out and left. Our last visit we were disappointed also, we waited over 15 minutes with an appointment. Sorry but you've lost two loyal customers plus I recently introduced my mom to this salon too. On the bright side, we stopped by Dick's Sporting Goods to pick up bicycle chain lube to maintain our bikes so it wasn't a total waste of time.

Yes! I suppose that can be the case. They're getting an updated review of a "4" from me to a "1"! But regardless we arrived before the walk in customers so we should have been next.

@TiarasOceanView No wonder! Thanks for letting me know. They shouldn't have appointments then, gah! They usually do a good job compared to where I've been going before. They shampoo, wash your hair and give you a mini massage also.

@infatuatedbby Oh yes, I am not saying no one can cut hair there, or do a good job, it is just that usually they are run like chop shops we call them. The dang owners are always wanting more production from you, you know?

I hate when you have an appointment and are a loyal customer to some place and then they make you wait and take someone that doesn't have an appointment before you while you wait. That is not right and good for you for walking out. It serves them right that they lost you.

Yes, I don't get what their strategy is but they lost not one but two of us! I need a haircut but will find a new spot soon.

@Hannihar Yes absolutely - I am not going back and that's my final word. I updated my 5 star review on Yelp to 1 star and it looks like a couple of other loyal customers experienced the same and changed their rating also.

I really hate it when they ignore their loyal customers like that. Shouldn't be the case. Loyal customers should be treated like a VIP. I would never go back to that place at all .

@infatuatedbby Not a good marketing strategy. That'll only let people visit you for awhile and then they'll eventually leave.

@toniganzon yeah definitely not a good strategy but seems like it! Last time my fiancé left the lady a nice tip and this time around we requested her. My fiancé said maybe she doesn't want his tip. She rather prefer no tip then!

My theory is they don't care about the loyal customers except they want to catch more people who are new. They probably think the loyal one needs them so we can wait while the new ones want to have a great first experience so they'll come back.

If they do not take appointments the rule of first come first served should be respected.

We were also first before the walk ins so there was no reason why my fiancé shouldn't be helped. I'm fine if they're running late on appointments but they weren't so that was annoying! Last time we ran into the same problem but I let it go

@LadyDuck Not at all. I updated my review on Yelp from 5 to 1 stars. Looks like several other people below me did the same too.

Running behind is fine - I have no problem with that the ones being called in didn't have an appointment at all. We arrived well ahead of them, also.

@teamfreak16 I would not mind if they're running late with appointments because that happens. But taking walk in's before a so called appointment and we arrived before the walk-in's is wrong! I gave them the benefit of the doubt before pointing fingers. And "asked" and yep - they were non-appointments so why were they assisted first. My fiancé is one to not wait unless he must (like if they're running late with appointments).

@teamfreak16 Yes - he left. We will go to a different salon tomorrow for his hair cut, or he may just end up cutting it himself. We bought White Lightening Clean Ride Lube in a 8 oz. There was another brand called Finish Line but since I remembered you mention White Lightening - we went with that. :)

That does not make any sense at all unless the stylist who was to take care of you was running behind. In which case the desk should have known and should have said something to explain.

Yeah I asked that and the front desk said nope. We arrived with an appointment and before walk ins yet we weren't called I understand if the stylist is Late on appointments it happens but this case it wasn't

Yes exactly. I still arrived before the walk ins so makes no absolute sense. Even when I brought it up they just apologized and didn't say anything else like really? Like sorry for the mix up, you'll be next. Nothing.

@CookieMonster46 They had a couple. Some were quoted 30 mins so they went next door to a bakery and said when they're ready if they employee can pop out and call them.
