Time for my first interim assessment

It is a little over a week since I completed my first 3 day session of chemotherapy. This means that my next 3 day session should be scheduled for next week, although that has yet to be confirmed. Today I shall be meeting with the consultant at Christie hospital in order to be appraised of my progress or lack thereof so far. Hopefully this should also entail an estimate of my immediate or long term prognosis. My appointment for a blood test is 12-30 PM, followed by the consultation around 2-30 PM. Of course the time may differ depending on how long the blood analysis takes. Naturally I am eagerly looking forward to hearing the opinion of the consultant. I do anticipate reasonably promising results, but will feel much more confident once I have been told so.

Thank you. I am expecting promising results, but do have the frame of mind to accept bad news if required.

I also want to hear good news, but am prepared for whatever the reality is. With cancer we have to accept that bad news is always likely.

@Asylum Being pessimistic does not help. When I got a stroke in April, I had difficulties to chase the dark thoughts about what the future would be (I could not walk after the stroke), but I think that my will to recover helped a lot to recover the use of my legs at light speed (well, 2 months...).

@topffer My biggest problem was when I suffered a brain haemorrhage because even the simplest things became hard work.

I am glad you are getting some results today. Tony has yet to hear of his last CT scan was cancer free, he has a scan every few months and blood work once to twice a month, he is also due a ocdivo treatment. Good luck to you!

Very true, cancer is never actually cured but just controlled, so regular monitoring is essential afterwards.
