Broken Hearts

My poor 17 year old daughter had her heart broken again. She really trusted this one because he was so good to her, and helped her get over the other 2 boys that had previously hurt her. She feels so betrayed and I feel so awful for her, but teenager boys don't make any sense. I can't help her stop hurting or tell her the next one won't hurt her, because I don't know. I hate that. All of those awful feelings from being a teenage girl come flooding back, and all the hurt. I remember how badly her father hurt me. I wish I could shield her from the pain, but I guess the best I can do is try to just be here...

If only we could protect our children from emotional pain. But we cannot. The only thing we can do is be there for them during those difficult times of their teenage life. By doing so, we are allowing them to learn from their own pain and make them become mature.

Being there for her is the very best that you can do.

I'm sorry. =( Heart break at any age is awful, but those teenage years seem to be the hardest-I remember too.
