Signed up for a free month of Netflix

A few months back I bought my daughter a DVD for her birthday that I did not realize was only able to be played on a blu-ray player. So I bought a blu-ray player so she could watch it. The blu-ray player is set up to be used also with YouTube, Hulu, and Netflix. My daughter asked me last night if we could get netflix. I looked and it is only $7.99 a month and the first month is a free trial so I won't be charged if I cancel before the month is up. I think we will continue to pay per month as that is a great price and I think my kids are really going to enjoy it. My daughter already told me a ton of Netflix shows she wants to watch. The first thing my daughter decided to watch tonight on Netflix is Trollz. I was surprised she wanted to watch it at 13.

It does sound like a good deal compared to what we pay for a big Satellite TV package. But my husband needs his sports.

That stinks that yours costs so much. I do not like sports at all and thankfully neither has anyone I dated.

I pay the initial fee for one screen then my sister pays the other $4.25 for 4 screens. She gets the better deal!

@Courtlynn wow that is funny I won't go to watch cartoons at the theater without kids with me. I just am not very interested in them.

It is geared toward younger kids compared to adults but lots of families like to watch those movies together. I loved playing with trolls when I was a kid.

Netflix is a good program. I've also used Hulu and both are reasonably priced. Netflix has a lot of their own programs now and one I would recommend is "Stanger Things."

@shaggin It's kind of like ET in a way with a Disney feel to it, very good! There is going to be a Stranger Things 2 soon. So catch up

I am thinking about subscribing to Netflix again. Wish I had unlimited data so I could have it streamed through the internet.

My son was watching DinoTrux on it today. My son and him have been taking turns watching things on there. I haven't watched anything yet and don't foresee doing it for awhile.

Nertflix is expensive here and the choice is a lot more limited, I will not pay $20 a month to have Netflix, this is our price here.

Wow that is a lot! I wouldn't pay that either. We have not had cable since 2005. My late husband had Netflix here for a few years when it was just CDs sent through the mail. Ours is streaming through the Blu-ray player and at $7.99 a month that's not too bad if it makes my kids happy for awhile!

First of all, I looked up an older post of mine earlier this am and saw your name and realized I lost track of you this summer. But I see you've not posted anything before this since school got out. Hope your summer has been going good? I've sort of backed away from the site a little bit to try to get things done around here. Not sure that I've accomplished that or not. I'm not familiar with the show Trollz or what age group it's geared toward. My kids watch netflix on their tablets or phones, but we'd need to buy a new, digital tv in order to bother getting it here. It is a good price compared to paying for cable, but my younger daughter took the tv we had been using for the past several years and my older daughter moved back home but keeps her tv in her room.

Yes I have been so busy this summer doing things with my kids that I have barely spent any time on here. Trollz is mainly for little ones. I decided to pop in here today while I have some free time. My son's using the computer and my daughter is at her friends house. I so badly wanted to go kayaking and geocaching today but that didn't work out so my son and I are just staying home and I'm trying to relax.

Our married son has Netflix and have given up their TV so they don't pay a licence now (this is in Ireland). There seems to be a huge array of stuff on Netflix. I'm glad it's working out for you.

When I used to go to my exes house we would look up movies to watch and none of them were ever on there. But for my daughter there are tons of things she can watch on there so she is really excited. She is watching Voltron now.
