The Weekend Is the Culprit

Last Friday , July 28th, we took our flight to Manila at 9:05 in the evening. We arrived there at about 10:20 though the manifest said 10:05. We were fetched by the husband of a niece of my mother-in-law from the airport and we went on a road trip from 11:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. That’s because along the way, we had some midnight snacks and talks and picture taking as usual. The reunion at the hotel and the next day at the beach were filled with activities. The trip from Bataan back to Manila was until 7:30 and my daughter met up with us and have dinner so we again were able to sleep at about 11:00 and woke up 2:00 in the morning since we have to be at the airport at 3:00, which is just on the third floor and we were booked in the hotel at the fourth floor of the airport since our flight is at 4:55 a.m., July 31. Thus, when we arrived home, I slept the whole day. Good thing, I filed for a one day leave. Until now, I am still always sleepy. The weekend activities and trips were the culprits. But that’s okay because we enjoyed them so much.

Yes thank you, I have regained my energy but not muchof my sleep yet. In the first photo we were waiting for our flight to Manila. The next one was at Kenny Rogers Roasters, one of the many restaurant at that floor where our hotel is. We deemed it right to be atl the hotel already because ourtrip is 4:45 in the morning and have to be there an hour before our departure.

oh, i would not consider those weekends as culprits, especially if you enjoyed the company of those close and dear to you, but yes, sleeping throughout the day will be the solution for your drowsiness. happy Sunday, my lady

But even if I have slept that much last Monday, it hasn't taken away my sleepiness everyday. That's because the next days I was again lacking in sleep as I only get 6 or less hours of sleep. No matter what, I cannot force myself to sleep earlier than 11 in the evening.

@ridingbet Only La Luna Sangre, after eating dinner. Then after La Luna wash my face and a lot of things like playing a game on my mobile which can hook me for hours. Actually, those lights from these gadgets are what's making me awake as I have read that we should not be using them anymore about one hour before sleeping.

@SIMPLYD This is great, I am a bit concerned because of the extreme heat, my mother apartment must be very hot during the mid hours of the day. I have texted to my brother to go to see her before going home.

It's not actually a hotel I think. I think it is named Wings. It's actually for those travelers who have to be at the airport very early the next day, so they stay there so they can just easily go down to the third floor through the elevator, where the departure area for Terminal 3 (Cathay Pacific) is. I just don't know if PAL has this in their terminal 2. It's the first time I experienced it actually.

@sunrisefan Actually, we didn't book early so we settled for a room with 6 (luckily we are 6 in all) massage chairs that were reclined like a bed. The CR for the females is a common one and a separate one for the males. It has very nice shower rooms and toilets. There is a pantry where there is an unlimited supply of hot congee (it was so delicious i consumed two bowls.) , coffee, sandwich, and biscuits. We only paid 500 each. My two cousin-in-law who will be going to the office, paid additional 250 pesos each for a fresh towel and soap because they will be showering. Very good for those travelers who should be at the airport already at very early in the morning. Lots of restaurants to choose from and shops too. That charge is only good for 7 hours of stay.

Yes, our trips were all tiring but very enjoyable, specially the road trip where we were in a big van and we were comfortably seated. We get to really enjoy the scene and still have some sharing of funny stories.

@JudyEv Indeed. That is their way of saying thank you to the 3 seniors, who are the only living ones amongst the 14 siblings and their mother is one of them. At their age and slowness in walking, they really went there to grace the reunion of their clan in their father side.

Indeed it was a busy weekend because it's a far place. We have to take the plane and make those road trip[s. Good thing the husband of my cousin-in-law was so gracious and happy to meet us alone at the airport. Then, going back, he is already with my cousin-in-law to send us off to the airport where we booked for the night.

@renicemae We also live with my in-laws. They requested us becoz they're already old and mother in law is mildly demented already. Just be nice to your in-laws so you won't have a problem living with them.

The traveling bug must be contagious. My friends and acquaintances, and now you, talked about trips... When will it be my turn (again )? On second thought, I had plenty of that in the past, so perhaps I should enjoy my current rest .

Whenever I go to Manila, i usually take the last flight going there and it's usually midnight. The reason: I want to avoid the heavy traffic jam because I don't want the person who will fetch me get into that mess. Whenever I'm there, I hardly sleep at all.

Yes, that is true. The late evening flights don't have, uch traffic when you already take the road to your desination. Though, i was really so sleepy already yet I wasn't ableto sleep in the van. We were all sharing stories with the driver who is the husband of one of my cousin in law.
