Vermont nicknamed "the Green Mountain State"

I shall not pretend to know anything about the State of Vermont which is found in the New England region, but if anthing goes by the depiction of the postcard and the lovely history on wikipedia, then its a place I would most certainly visit if ever I got to the USA. Interesting facts about Vermont which I have chosen to share are as follows: Vermont contains one species of venomous snake, the timber rattlesnake! The Green Mountains are covered by the conifers. John Deere the inventor of many farm implements hails from the state of Vermont. (we have all the John Derre tractors and other farming equipment in SA as well) State Flower - Red Clover Origin of Name: from the French “vert mont,” meaning “green mountain” Vermont is the largest producer of maple syrup in the U.S - I still have a great big bottle of Vermont maple syrup in my fridge ready to make a pecan nut pie! While researching the things I want to share, I also found out many other great and interesting things about Vermont. A travel day on my computer - how marvelous.
