Vermont nicknamed "the Green Mountain State"

I shall not pretend to know anything about the State of Vermont which is found in the New England region, but if anthing goes by the depiction of the postcard and the lovely history on wikipedia, then its a place I would most certainly visit if ever I got to the USA. Interesting facts about Vermont which I have chosen to share are as follows: Vermont contains one species of venomous snake, the timber rattlesnake! The Green Mountains are covered by the conifers. John Deere the inventor of many farm implements hails from the state of Vermont. (we have all the John Derre tractors and other farming equipment in SA as well) State Flower - Red Clover Origin of Name: from the French “vert mont,” meaning “green mountain” Vermont is the largest producer of maple syrup in the U.S - I still have a great big bottle of Vermont maple syrup in my fridge ready to make a pecan nut pie! While researching the things I want to share, I also found out many other great and interesting things about Vermont. A travel day on my computer - how marvelous. Thank you Isabelle @BelleStarr for my lovely lettered postcard (sealed in an envelope) I appreciate everyone that is still sending me postcards as I do love getting greetings via the mail. Kalispera everyone - Kalispera Katerina, lovely to see you writing posts once again.

That is a very nice site, been there as well. Robert Lincolns house is something you would enjoy as well.

That would actually pass for an English countryside view.

My brother restored an old John Deere tractor. They're pretty common in Australia.

If you think you would love Vermont, you should come to the province of Quebec after your stay there. Very similar. We are famous for our maple syrup!

I grew up in upstate New York (very similar to Vermont with a few less mountains) and when I moved to Kansas everyone I talked too thought NY was covered with high-rises. Your post reminded me of the time I brought a good Kansas friend east for a summer visit at my parents home, I did take her to NYC and she was awed but was disappointed NY was so similar to Kansas, towns and cities with lots of green between. I too love Vermont, just got back from visiting relatives there. I went to college in Vermont and love the mountains, they are everywhere. I hope you get to visit it too...

My sister lived in Vermont for a time back in the 1970's. I have yet to see the state. I do like their maple syrup!
