When Nothing Satisfies

I woke this morning with a craving for French toast. I knew I had to go to the store for bread, finished it off yesterday with a cheese sandwich, so I went to the store right after the pool this morning. I got home and sat down here with apple slices and my Apple Cider Drink. The more apple slices I ate, the hungrier I got. Only one thing satisfied, nothing else, so I prepared the griddle, got out my bowl I use for French toast batter and made it up. I must have been really hungry for French toast, or maybe I was just plain hungry, because the first four slices just didn't hit the spot, but the second four did. I didn't eat them all at the same time, about an hour apart, and now I'm completely satisfied. It's also been raining all morning and for me that spells sleep. I've been yawning here like it's going on midnight. So I'm going to take a mid day nap. I've been up since 3:45 anyway, so I'm due a nap. I'll be back. I still have a lot of notifications to get through today. What's on your plate today? Thanks for reading.

I love French toasts but I am unable to eat more than two. I had a mixed salad today, it's so hot that I do not feel hungry.

@cacay1 I do not cook when it is so hot, if you use the oven or the stove the kitchen becomes so hot you cannot stay inside.

Isn't that irritating when the one thing you want, you have to go to the store for?

Sometimes it is. It's the only thing I bought this morning. I needed bread anyway so it was a good idea to get it.

@just4him Ah, good point, at least you needed the bread anyway. I know I need to go to the store (and garden) to get all the stuff I want for tonight's meal

We had French toast for dinner last night. Three and a half slices and a couple of slices of bacon and I was done. Thinking about a nap today for myself too. Have brain fog from the muscle relaxer I took last night.

@just4him I only nodded off for a few minutes. I do feel better though. We have French toast leftover from last night. I will freeze it and use it for another meal.

Eight slices of French toast, you were hungry! The weather was iffy today and we did have some thunderstorms and so I stayed home and caught up on all my notifications. Not a one left. Always a good feeling to know that all is accomplished. I also watched a couple of movies. An all-time favorite: Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

That seems to be a lot of people's favorite. I've seen it only once. So not a favorite. Yes, I was hungry. We've had two days of rain. It's great to catch up on notifications. I'm getting there, but since I spent all of half an hour here yesterday, I had a lot to deal with today.

French toast does sound good. Maybe I will fix it tomorrow for breakfast. I don't remember what all took place on this day. I know that I have a lot of running around to do today. Have a good one.

It's been a long time since I had it. Just milk, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a little bit of honey. The syrup probably has all the calories.

Sounds like you need a good nap. Your diet downfall is like my better halfs. But instead of French toast his is bagels. But he had lost a couple of pounds this week which is great.

Well I started my day out talking with the Lord and reading the Bible its my favorite time of the day. My husband and I are going to Applebee's, its a nice restaurant with great food and prices and great food. It's in Sayre PA, it takes about an hour to get there but its worth it. I thank the Lord we are able to go and celebrate our 22nd Anniversary which was July 16th!

Holy moly! You certainly polished off a lot of carbs, but rainy days and exercise call for a treat. Our son visited for a few hours and set up our new router and we just returned from our just the two of us Friday night dinner. Japanese tonight.

@just4him Japanese is so different. I love all cuisines. Not a picky eater. The only food I don't like are Mallowmars. Lol!

@DianneN I have no idea what Mallowmars is/are. I try not to be a picky eater, but my taste buds have a problem with some authentic foods - Mexican and Chinese being two I don't tolerate well. I took one bite out of my burrito and handed it to my boyfriend - that was back in my Navy days. I also went into an authentic Chinese restaurant, ordered my favorite chop suey and found out I really didn't like the authentic Chinese dish. That one got passed to my boyfriend too.

Yeah, it was a lot of bread and carbs, but I don't do that very often, seldom in fact. I'm glad your son got the router taken care of and your dinner went well. I don't think I've ever had Japanese. I know I've had Chinese.

We have had several rainy days with the area I am around in town getting over 6 inches from midnight to about one in the afternoon (the TV Station is about two blocks away). Had one small shower this morning and then it has been sunny ever since.

That's a lot of rain in short period of time. I'm glad the sun came out. It didn't rain yesterday as I expected it would, unless it did last night after I went to bed and was cleared out by the time I got up at 4 this morning. It's in the forecast again this afternoon.
