Favorite "Color" Songs #1 - "Blues from a Gun'

"I don't care about the state of my hair, I get something out of nothing that just wasn't there, and your kiss kiss kiss is never gonna blow me away," That is my favorite lyric from #1 in my Favorite "Color" Songs series: "Blues from a Gun" by the Jesus and Mary Chain. "Blues from a Gun," from their 1989 album, Automatic, might have stalled at #32 in the UK (not that there's anything wrong with a Top 40 hit,") but the song resonated with the American alternative crowd, spending three weeks at #1 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. And it reached #15 in Ireland. Whereas the Jesus and Mary Chain had always been a proper band, Scottish brothers Jim and William Reid received the only credit, playing every instrument on the record. I love this band. "Blues from a Gun" is my favorite by them. Give it a listen, and you should see why. (Info verified by Wikipedia)

I confess, I'm getting older. I have not only never heard of this song before, nor the artists, But to be fair I haven't heard a lot of modern music in the last twenty years . I'm trying to think of a blue song from my past and the only one that quickly comes to mind is Blue Bayou
