Unconscious eating

the photo shows my empty bag of chips. I grabbed them and ate them while watching tv. I need to stop keeping things too close like that. I am finally back up to gaining more weight and that makes it harder to walk etc. When I was younger and able to get around better and had to cook, etc. I popped a lot of food into my mouth without thought. at times I was quite over weight and with my disability I hope that won't happen again. would really be a problem more now then ever. for a few years I have been trying to gain back weight, but now I hope I can keep it like it is at this point. Do you eat unconsciously ?

No I stopped this years ago when I became obese. Now I cook meals and snack on nuts and seeds, sometimes sugar free popsicles

most times i can't chance cold things hitting my teethe so i seldom eat ice things. biggest problem with nuts is they stick in my teethe. can you tell i have bad ones? lol.

@bunnybon7 To tell you the truth, I've noticed that the waistbands of my trousers have shrunk.

I have some snacks up here. If I didn't I would starve. I do like Lays too. The Albertson's brand of crinkle chips is pretty good. I love tators in all ways.

I do eat unconsciously at times. It really does put the weight on to eat like that. I could eat that entire bag of chips in the photo. Glad we do not have them here.

@bunnybon7 I could eat an entire big bag throughout the day if left to my own devices. I cannot have those delicious chips in the house. I have no will power.

I keep nothing where I watch the TV, when you sit there watching something it is too easy not to realize you are eating.

That photo shows one of my weaknesses...they make reading a book or watching TV a bit unhealthy for me

I have found that it's best not to buy that stuff that you can grab and eat without having to prepare anything. If I really want something to eat I have rice cakes that I have to open and choose one then get something to spread on it. That means work and effort and often I just don't do it. So when I do I am truly hungry, willing to make the effort.

that would be best but sometimes i just don't even feel like walking all the way into the kitchen. much less prepare something so i would definitely loose weight again. maybe too much again

No I always pay attention to what I am eating these days and always did. I have always been crazy for keeping weight off, not that I havent ever gained too much weight because I have, but yes, one has to be careful with not thinking about what they are eating. I know chips are awesome lol
