Somewhere between 1:15 and 1:30 AM this morning in Tulsa Oklahoma at 41st and Yale, which is about 4 miles from my house, an F2 tornado hit, wiping out several businesses and damaging many others in a 2.1 mile stretch. My Panera bread store is gone!

I was wondering about you when I turned on the news this morning. I hope you are okay, and i am sorry about your Panera bread store is gone but am sure you can bake yummy bread or get Coral to air mail you a loaf either of you two makes better food than a restaurant!

Penera is just a nice little place to go and have a toasted bagel and a cuppa coffee even the Starbucks in that area of the windows were all blown out that one little strip next to the mall was taken out completely.

@SonjaRae I thought you got bread there, wasn't aware you could go for a bagel and coffee. I have never been in one of them. I am hoping they get back up and running soon. The important thing is that you are safe. You are much more important than a store

I'm so sorry to hear that. I have a Facebook friend who lives near Tulsa, and between tornadoes and fracking earthquakes I'm always worried about her safety! Glad you're okay. The Panera will hopefully rebuild.

Very true businesses can be built in many of the business owners here that they interviewed on the news said the same thing store friends and windows and structures can be replaced and that's what we have insurance for!

I didn't hear any tornado sirens last night or the wee morning hours and the news was just saying that by the time the weather alert received the information the tornado hit too quick for them to be able to sound the alarms.

@SonjaRae -- they had a story about it on our local channel, and they said the storm flared up so quickly and changed directions that they didn't have time to sound the sirens or issue warnings. We've had that happen a few times in Kentucky: weather service experts survey damage and determine that it was an EF1 tornado...and a warning was never issued. Watching the weather coverage the meteorologists say that their scans for tornadoes update every five minutes. They really need to get faster service, because five minutes is an eternity in a storm, especially when it's unpredictable like a tornado!!!

@FourWalls I agree in five minutes it can tear up an entire town up and be gone

There will be another another Panera. What's important is that you survived unscathed.

It took out part of the workplace of my brother-in-law. He was here in Norman with us, but in the middle of the night his phone went nuts with the higher ups at his Bank of Oklahoma going into panic mode.

Those tornados can do so much damage in a short period of time. I am sorry about your Panera bread store. I hope that there was no one hurt.I have seen many tornadoes over the years and the destruction that they cause.

It's a blessing that it happened at 1:30 am instead of mid day when all of the stores and restaurants would have been filled with people.

@SonjaRae yes, it is a blessing. I used to live in Iowa and Kansas and dealt with tornadoes all the time.

I am sorry about your Panera bread store. I grew up in Minneapolis and we had tornadoes but I never really experienced one in person. That is horrible and it is such a mess to clean up to and if your business is destroyed have to find another place for it and probably lots of paper work.

@SonjaRae It is horrible. Their livlihood gone down the drain. Do they have insurance that would cover it? I think we have some kind of insurance. We can have earthquakes here in Israel and I did experience one here once. It is horrible and are there places they can turn to for help?

@Hannihar Many or most of the people they have interviewed have all said, "This is why we have insudance. Things can be replaced, and buildings rebuilt!"
