Eating Street Food

I do not like eating what I cook. Well, that’s because my cooking skills are not very good. And, so I end up eating out quite regularly. I have gotten used to eating at fast food restaurants. Twice a week I have street food. Yeah, I need my dose of street food at least twice a week. I love the snacks and foods served on streets. Most food you get on the streets is fusion food, an amalgamation of different cuisine that comes into its own. The cooks behind the counter on streets are absolute improvisers and bring to life some incredible-tasting dishes. You get to taste something you haven’t tasted when you go to food streets. Every little food stall or food cart offers their specialty and it takes a while to decide where to eat. Yesterday, I had been with my friends to a food street in the neighborhood and this time I had a ginger chicken shawarma wrap served with mint chutney, onion rings and lime. I absolutely loved the taste when I took my first bite and immediately ordered another chicken wrap. Truly, the best tasting chicken wrap I’ve had in a long time. In the days to ahead I’m going back for more. How often do you have street food? What’s your favorite street food? What's your favorite food street?

I seldom will have the street food because I am not sure whether they are clean enough. I don't want myself to get sick.

Yes, not all street food stalls are hygienic, however, few food stalls are rather clean.

I used to eat out a lot. Now time has changed. I have a family. So, much of the money I get goes into family budget: housing cost, kids school, and everything else related to family need.

True. Furthermore, everything is getting insanely expensive.

Even though I know how to cook, me and my wife eat out at least twice a week. It's fun to taste the different kinds of food other people have to offer. From fancy restaurants, to food sold in the streets, we've tried almost everything. Here in the Philippines, we have quite a number of food stalls in the streets. We've tried almost all varieties, from chicken and pork intestines, to fancy pulled pork sandwiches. My all-time favorite is definitely chicken intestines (the clean ones of course).

That's the way it should be. I do not go to fancy restaurants too often... I mean the fine dining restaurants. I find the food portions at these restaurants ridiculously small.I love fast food restaurants and foods at street stalls. I haven't tried pork intestines and chicken intestines, I might just give these a try one day.

It's a matter of choice. Some of my friends too do not dig street food.
