My cat loves boxes

I have 4 cats and they all love boxes. I know most cats are obsessed with playing in boxes. Tommy is my 1 year old cat and he loves sitting in boxes in very uncomfortable positions. I wonder why? I waited about an hour before he decided to get out of the box. He is such a little goof.
