What do you think about the self-driving car?

What do you think about the self-driving car? Would or will you use one? Do you think they should be cheaper? What kind of fears do you have about them? I am concerned that like anything else that is robotic, there will be accidents. If they were really proven safe, I would use one.

If they were proven absolutely safe, I might get one too, especially if they weren't too expensive. But as for safety, even people-controlled cars get in accidents...

Are we really getting that lazy? No, I want to be in control when I'm in a car.

I hope they are perfected by the time I am too old to drive!

I would never have one and will be too old to drive when they take over anyway. Not just the danger of accidents but threat of systems being hacked to create accidents and mayhem and the government being able to track and record your every movement. Young people are excited about self driving cars because it means they can get drunk and not drive and most importantly provide them with more awesome texting time.
