Feeling Like Old Mother Hubbard Today

Do you remember the nursery rhyme about Old Mother Hubbard? If you don't here is it Old Mother Hubbard Went to the cupboard To get her poor doggie a bone, When she got there The cupboard was bare So the poor little doggie had none I just took the dogs out and when they do their business they know to expect a doggie treat when they come back inside. When I looked in the doggie jar there were only two lonely little biscuits at the bottom. Both dogs were looking at me with great anticipation of their treat and I felt so bad I had to break one in half and they only got a tiny little piece. The other one will have to be for later. Thankfully we'll be doing the grocery shopping either later today or tomorrow so the doggie treat jar will get refilled. Do you ever feel like Old Mother Hubbard when you open your cabinet and it's bare?

I can understand your pain. It's not so bad with people as you can explain even if they may or may not believe you but with animals.......

My husband does the shopping so I expect it to be loaded with the necessities...right now there is no peanut butter...I left it at my sisters house after camping, I'm thinking I should go to the store and see what else I'm missing...

Ours are never bare.. but most the time only food in them are foods my mom and brother will eat. As I'm trying not to snack much, unless i make a baked good like the cookies i made yesterday.

My kids will think that . . . they're hungry, but they don't want this or that from the fridge or the pantry or snack corner . . . oh there's just nothing to eat (according to them) !

Yes, at one time I noticed that my cat Sid's wet food supply depleted very quickly. So now I have learned how to keep the supply at an even level so I don't have to face an angry kitty with no food.

Oh Yes, with Daisy, I feel awful when I haven't realised she is down to her last treat and I also have to break it in half. The look I get from her. I now try to keep it in stock.

Oh, those poor little doggies! I make sure never to run out of pet food and treats or paper products. Actually, for someone who rarely cooks, I keep a well stocked kitchen just in case.. .

Yes, had that problem yesterday after getting rid of everything not on my diet plan. So I went shopping this morning to fill in the gaps. I hope your doggies are happy once again with their treats.
