My husband, my mother and I were on our way to church one Sunday morning and I pulled down the visor and this big black hairy spider fell into my lap! I nearly had a heart attack. I screamed and my husband pulled over. I flew out of the car and was looking all over the front of the car, NOTHING! My husband was looking too and he couldn't find it. Then he's like were going to be late for church so I reluctantly got into the car very scared and the next thing I know there it is crawling on my husbands leg he grabbed it and threw it out the window. I was scared of spiders to begin with but this one was huge, black and hairy! I'll never forget it! Has anything like this happened to you? Picture by bing.com (this picture looks alot like it except it was hairier!)

I sure hate spiders. Lucky you were not at the wheel. That could have been one big accident. Glad you found that critter and got rid of it. YUCK!

Scream!!!! You told me this horror story. Yes, I jumped out of a moving car. Another time I was driving to high school when one hung in front of my face. I had no choice, but to pull to the side of the road, scream, and whack it out of the car. Spiders petrify me! A big black hairy one would cause a heart attack!!!!!

I am not overly fond of spiders so I wonder why I wrote a children's book with a spider and the main character. I guess back then spiders didn't bother me like they do now. I wish I could of been there with a video camera. sorry had to tease a little. That is what I would of done too.

Dang girl, talk about a surprise!! I have all kinds of spiders here where I live. I am extremely careful around the Black Widow's. I did have a green spider the size of my hand (very big) that was building a web across my front porch. I just relocated her. Sometimes it's the itty-bitty ones that will leave the biggest lump @Butchcass4 .

I would have reacted the same. I know almost every spider here is harmless but I don't want them on me. I do try to leave them alone outside. The gardener ecpert said all spiders are good in the garden.

That one looks almost like a tarantula.
