How Resilient Are You?

While facing the harsh realities of life, we often tend to believe that finding happiness is way out of our reach. This may be true to a certain extent. Negative circumstances like death of a loved one, ill- health, financial or marital difficulties, can all take a toll and significantly reduce or even destroy our chances of happiness. However, time and again research studies have indicated that some folks, who have gone through extreme difficult times, have been able to bounce back from a devastating situation by their grit and determination and force of will. Of course, this spirit of resilience may not be easy. It would take time, patience and endurance. But eventually, resiliency could be learnt and practiced one step at a time. Conditioning ourselves to ‘never say die’ in any difficult situation is the key. Staying calm in the face of crisis can enable us to emerge stronger and wiser. In such a scenario, there is every possibility that some degree of happiness could be regained. It’s always beneficial to remain hopeful under all circumstances, no matter how critical these may be. I agree with you..if your mind is calm and relaxed then you can think good and overcome difficulties..I believe that minds are powerful..It is like if you say nothing then it is really nothing but if you say that there is a way then, there will be a way..

I commend you for stressing the wonders of mind power. You are so right @m_audrey6788 It is certainly one's mind that can direct us to act appropriately in times of emergencies. Thank you

I agree.. We don't know how resilient we can be until we realise that we have overcome something so devastating .. like losing a loved one to a murder...

@Gabugs Indeed.. I wouldn't wish on any family what our family had to overcome .. my brother was murdered 21 years ago.. and it was the most difficult thing to overcome... especially that his killers were never brought to justice...

I think as I've got older I've become more resilient. I needed to get stronger too.
