Went to the doctors about my neck

I woke up this morning with pins and needles all down my side and also into my right foot which means things were getting worse. I decided to go to the doctor just to make sure it really is a trapped nerve. The doctor says it is in fact two trapped nerves. I have a cocktail of 6 different pills to take because apparently just taking them when I felt the pain wasn't dealing with the problem. I wish I could afford to go to an osteopath but I know from experience it won't solve the neck pain. It seems there's some kind of drug for epilepsy that works but I'd like to avoid that if I can because there are a lot of side effects and you have to take it pretty long term. Meanwhile I'm just going to make sure that I use the speech recognition software rather than type if I'm sure that would make it a lot worse in the long run. I hear of all the different things people suffer on my lot and elsewhere it seems to me that this is a really quite a minor problem as I'm sure it will get better over time with some care. Today I had no idea that I could take ibuprofen, Panadol, Ozmarepole and codeine at the same time. Apparently you're supposed to combine them to get the best effect for this particular problem. I may rattle!

I think it's not effective on its own. Doctor was insistent I took it together with the paracetamol.

I guess it's just one of those things but it is beginning to annoy me a lot as I can't get things done like I want to.

Your health problem is important. I hope that by taking those medicines together will give you some relief. Can;t they do anything for your trapped nerves?

@Jackalyn Is there anything else they can give you? If your doctor thinks the anti epilepsy medicine would help you then couldn't you give it a try and see what happens?

@I sure they can come up with something for you. It would be nice if they could get you back to where you can do things the way you want to again.

So I keep thinking it's not as bad as some people get and at least I know that it's nothing serious.

@Jackalyn Years ago, I hurt my neck really bad, the doctor was useless, the specialist wanted to do surgery and I said no way. I finally went to a chiropractor and he is the one who helped me the most.

Yes some medications need each other to get the best possible benefit. I give Tony his AFIB meds and Aspirin together .
