Can this be done?

When I adopted my kitten, I knew my life would change. But, because I did not know his temperament or level of neediness, I had no idea how much my life would change. And I'm here hoping that he won't lunge onto the keyboard, as he has so many other times, and wipe away everything I'm trying to write! He wants to be with me all the time. He wants to be on top of me or next to me. If I'm reading, he's on top of my book. If I'm online...he's on the keyboard. I've learned to correct a sideways monitor more times than I can count anymore! No clue how he does it! I was trying to chat with my niece the other night online and Timothy typed more than I did. My niece kept laughing because she knew when it was him and not me. I finally had to give up and called her. But even then he tried to sit on the phone! Tonight, in order to eat my dinner by myself, I had to put him in his crate. So I had baby mews in the background as I ate. Not the best dinner music. But the only way I could eat without his head remaining in my bowl! Hope you're all doing well. I laugh most of the time these days because of him. I don't sleep well because he loves waking me up to play. But it's a life I can definitely live. It was a great decision. I'm just not allowed to type here much anymore! uh oh....here he comes!!!! I'm so glad you're laughing more, Timothy is exactly what you needed. He's being affectionate and that is priceless.

Timothy is lovely. The poor kitty has been in the shelter many weeks, so now he wants to be sure you are not going to quit him. He wants to stay with you all the time and to feel your presence. He will calm down a bit soon.

@CRK109 Little by little he will learn that staying inside the crate is momentary and he should stop crying.

I feel awful about the crate as I'm sure that reminds him of the cage at the shelter. But then he's so happy when I come home and let him out and snuggle him. He's a very happy little guy and I'm so glad I decided to adopt him!

I think so, although I have to shut off the computer so much more than I really want to. He's only 3 months old but very demanding already"$%55555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555rxz (as you can see here)

I am so happy you have another cat. Timothy sounds like a wonderful playful kitty. I'm sure he'll get better as he gets older. Right now it's new to both of you.

It's very new and he's been the best medicine for me. I know he's happy to have been adopted. He always looked so sad at the shelter (then again, they all do). I still miss Ruby and Timothy reminds me that it's all about us helping each other!

I dont allow my cat to do that I tell him no and put him by my foot for a good foot rubbing or I give him toys to play with.

He doesn't understand "no" yet. I do say "no" and put him down and sometimes he'll grab onto one of his toys. Other times, he's insistent on being up here in my face. So I close the computer and snuggle him. He's only 3 months old so he has a lot of learning to do! :)

They do love us and want to be a part of it all. It's so funny when I was living with my ex we would quite often go for a walk in the evenings. At some point we would look back the way we had come. Following us down the sidewalk would be two cats and a dog. So funny!

I don't blame you. Timothy had a sister and I really wanted to adopt both of them. But my lease says I can only have one pet. Thankfully, his sister got adopted around the same time, so I'm sure she's in a great home, too.

If you think a cat on your keyboard is bad, try an 80 pound lab!

I'm sure Timothy is giving you plenty of love and keeping you busy. Kittens are hysterical and want to hog all your attention. I don't have any cats anymore but I do remember how they loved to be on top of everything

He's a funny little guy and he is beginning to make these very high pitched chirping sounds. So adorable!

That is so good to hear. Who needs myLot when you have a real, live kitten to play with? Well, hopefully there'll be room for both.
