I read (and wrote about) a post I called "World news: a mother left her 2 children in her car." The post got a lot of feedback because no one can imagine that a woman would be so inhuman so as to leave in the car her 2 children to die. My shock was greater when 2 of my friends sent 2 different clips of 2 different women who had done the same that same day in Texas. Check on my other posts, scrolling down on the answers. It is unbelievable. One of the "mothers of the year" is called Amanda Hawkins and the other is Cynthia Marie Randolph. The clip where the story of the first one was told said that she could have 2 years of jail. I do not understand. It seems that, in some places, it is worse to steal a purse than to kill 2 babies. I am mad! But more than that, I am sad. Very sad.

And these deaths happen every, single year @marguicha . It's absolutely ridiculous and there is no excuse.

No excuse. Except that the women should get jail as a murder.

@ There was a sentence in one of the clips I received that the mother could have jail for 2 years. For me, that is a joke.

What has happened with the values of family and motherhood? As our world continue to enhance standards of living and amazing innovations brought about by technology, our ethics, dignity and integrity seem to be going to the dumpsters.

Those 2 women were apt to own a car and get a permit to drive but no one checked if they could be a mother.

@marguicha I guess a license must be issued for that too because of the growing numbers of inept mothers lately.

I don't blame you. I am too. This is inexcusable. I hope the judges in these cases gave these women all the time they could. Sometime the judge's hands are tied. I think they should full discretion to give these people much more time. It seems that if they shoot or stab they get more time than to just leave a person/child in a situation where they are sure to die. This is appalling.

It is gross negligence and consequences should be far greater than they are. Children depend on adults to keep them safe and it is sad how often they fail.

It is a shame that the culprits will not be punished as they should apparently.

A nice way of getting away with crime, if no one punishes you. I read that one of these beasts could get 2 years of jail. I´d jail them for life.

It makes me mad and disgusted when I hear of people leaving their children in a hot car. I think it is inexcusable and they should be convicted for the crime of murder.
