*So, this was what happened.

I sent a text message to our clinical coordinator with my other sim card, and I knew he received it but did not reply because he used the other mobile network that is different from the sim card that I loaded. Soon after, my phone received 3 missed calls. I thought, “Ah, the clinical coordinator is calling me now with another number so I can tell him my concerns”. But every time I tried to answer the call, the caller hangs up. I therefore sent a text message asking who the caller is. He replied “How are you?” We had our dinner and my phone was lying on the dining table. When it rang, and the caller was the “how are you” person, I immediately said, “Sir, Sir”, but the caller, a man, was uttering some incomprehensible words. What I did was I hung up and I thought, maybe Sir CC will text me back. But no! The text message sent later was in a different dialect. When he called again, I listened to his voice, and it was not our CC. I hung up, and put the number on “blocked” mode- on blacklist. This morning, I had many missed calls again, so I thought this person was ‘spamming’ me. Do you answer a call from some unknown numbers or persons?

I never dare to answer unknown numbers. If it is really an important concern, he or she can send an SMS. if not, I wouldn't stress myself about it.

@ridingbet Well, I had experienced this before. In Tajikistan, they do register their sim cards.

@Shavkat if this bill becomes a law, will you subject your sim cards for registration?

that is true, my friend. well, maybe the government want our sim cards to be registered so there will be no more unknown callers, but do you think that is fine?

No, I do not, because I give my phone numbers to a very limited numbers of people, if I do not know the identity of the caller, I do not reply.

I experienced it at one time. I never like giving out my numbers so only few who knew about it. Then one time, an unknown number was calling me. I thought someone I know so I answered, he was asking if I'm Bhem and I said yes. He still if I still remember him and I said hell no. I tried to composed myself and asked him who he is then he keeps talking in a riddle. So hang up before he can talk again. And never answered any calls if the number is not saved in my phone.

I too had similar experience and I never pick up the phone if an unknown person is calling me. Sometimes I text them who they are, if they reply then it might call back I don't like such calls

I usually don't. If it's something important then they should send a message first introducing who they are.

right, and by 'first introducing', it should also include where or from whom did they receive our number from.

Yes, I do. However, if it is someone whom I don't know, after telling me his/her name I will excuse myself that I don't know her. I answer an unlisted number that suddenly calls because it could be a relative who got my number from another relative and would want to tell me something.

@ridingbet I even always receive a text for a man calling the other party as brother, so I always send it back to him. So far, he isn't misspending me messages anymore. It's sad though that he didn't even thanked me for sending them back to him,

do you also put your phone on silent mode, or do you switch it off when the unknown caller insists on calling up again?
