Today’s words are: need, courage, passion, strength, dance PASSION: TOMBE Once I knew the dance And with the grace of Pavlova, The strength of Baryshnikov, And courage of the four-year old Clinging to the barre, I leapt through time and space. I froze life, hovering mid-air. I balanced on tip-toe, poised And controlled, Just waiting to be captured. Long ago, the grace fell. The strength grew weak. The courage faltered. Incomplete the days have been Since a sashay or pirouette saved From long and bitter nights. I need to find that pulse again— That life’s blood rhythm of the soul. To arabesque and entrechat From one heart’s beat to the next Grand jete.
