I can finally fly through myLot!

United States
August 13, 2017 7:04am CST
When I was still using Mozilla Firefox I had many problems with myLot. The site was slow in so many ways. It was frustrating and many times I would type a comment and it would take forever. I said I was gong to spend less time here in the summer since I didn't want to waste time watching the wheels of myLot spin. A few days ago I decided to dump Firefox and go back to Chrome. It was the best decision I could have made. I finally have no issues here at myLot, and the problem I had with my computer shutting down my itself - well that has not happened at all. I really didn't think that the browser I was using could turn my computer off! And they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks! We have been fogged in and I just took a peek out the window and I see the sun is finally making itself known! From all accounts this should be a beautiful day. I hope you all have a wonderful day, I know I will. Photo from Pixbay

As a general rule I do not bother selecting specific browsers, but simply use the default one installed in whatever operating system I am using at the time. As a result I have used numerous browsers, but the only one that I have had issues with was Chrome.

The last computer tech I used in a different city he hated Chrome and made me use FF when he set up my new computer. When I got this one less than a year ago I used a different tech. I asked him and he said use whichever you like the best. So I stuck with FF.

@Asylum If it doesn't work for me , then it's not popular in this house.

I tried Firefox and compared with Chrome, but I immediately noticed that Chrome is a lot faster.

I bookmarked our local weather and the weather map would take about 5 mins. to load when I used FF. Since I didn't know better at the time, I blamed the news/weather channel's lousy site. Well, not with Chrome that maps loads in seconds!

@AbbyGreenhill I think that Chrome uses a personalized version of JavaScript engine to load the pages faster.

So far so good, as long as it keeps up I don't need the tech guy with the stinky after shave to come work on it

Try disabling the touchevents under the settings, it might help fixing the issue.

I'm glad you got the wheels turning on myLot again. I don't know why it is like that. I'll go for quite a while without any problems, and then I'll need to switch browsers. I just needed to switch to Firefox for a game I'm playing because it won't play on Chrome anymore.

@AbbyGreenhill Yes, I had our computer turn itself on, while I was gone!:( So I switched to Chrome and since, have had nothing like that occur. It make a BIG difference, which I didn't realize:(

The only explorer I have ever used is Chrome. I don't like Fierfox at all. Too many issues and bugs. This also slows down a lot of computers here on the islands.

@AbbyGreenhill No, it's not. Today it is raining and our lines seem to be wet so my internet is on the very slow side. Normally it is much faster than it is right now.
