The Music Explosion was garage band from Mansfield, Ohio existing from 1966 to 1969. They were a one hit wonder with a single album “Little Bit O’ Soul” for Laurie records. The title track was a major hit going gold at Billboard #2 and considered a forerunner of bubblegum music for some reason. “Little Bit O’ Soul” was written by the British team of John Carter and Ken Lewis and first recorded in 1964 by the Little Darlings. Lead vocalist Jamie Lyons died at 57 in 2006. The Ramones and 2 Live Crew have covered “Little Bit O’ Soul.”

The Ramones always had good taste when it came to covers. Used to play this on the radio once in awhile.
