Mouse Breath

The weather is exquisite today. After my morning walk, I walked Doodles, showered, and went out to brunch with my husband and our best friends. Now I'm ready to relax on myLot. For your information, Doodles has been a very good boy. He has been catching one mouse a day where the woods abuts our property, with two last Friday. Don't feel too badly for the mice. My son's future inlaws are Yale University scientists. Mom worked with many, many mice and other animals over the years. Their gestation period is about 21 days with an average of 7 babies, who in turn produce rapidly. Next time Doodles catches a mouse, I will not tell him to leave it alone for its mommy and daddy. I will not cover it with weeds and leaves to protect it from Doodles. I will let him do what he has to do, but I won't kiss him until he has a minimum of three full baths with his tongue. I don't like mouse breath.

Lol! I don't blame you! Thank you! I cut them from our hydrangea tree and used it as a centerpiece at a recent dinner party.

@garymarsh6 I have several different varieties - some pink, some blue, and the rest are white. These all turn pink in the autumn. Thank you!

@DianneN Vince doesn't like cheese which seems a great shame but that's the facts. When the subject of cheese comes up he always talks about goats' breath cheese and earns himself a thump.

My grandkids surprised us with a visit straight from Maine today. Doodles did not catch a mouse to their disappointment. Figures!

@rebelann He sharpened a stick for easy disposal of a mouse. Lol! Actually, they gathered nuts and acorns and put them by a chipmunk hole in a tree. Their reasoning was that the chipmunk would eat the nuts, get so fat, and Doodles would have an easier time catching it. Then they dug for earthworms and found way too many. I had them wash their hands four times before I'd allow them to throw treats to Doodles before they headed back to NY.

Yes, mouse breath is a no no. But hugs to Doodles for being a good prince cat. I just stopped by, I am having some issues here, so will try to get back to you on pm soon. I am happy the weather is exquisite by you, Dianne, keep enjoying it. Talk soon.

Thanks for stopping by, especially with your issues. Definitely no kisses for mouse breath Doodles. It's just too gross for me to do. No hugs either. Thanks, I love gloriously exquisite weather!

I would imagine it wouldn't be very nice to smell mouse breath. I shouldn't be surprised they multiplied that rapidly, but I didn't know that. Doodles is such a good kitty. Love the photo of the baby's breath.

It just grosses me out! Remember that expression? lol. I learned something new from her parents. They are a wealth of information. Thank you. Those are actually hydrangeas from a tree we have. I cut them for our dinner party centerpiece.

No mouse breath for us! The kids got sidetracked collecting tree nuts and acorns and digging up earthworms. That was more disgusting than Doodles catching a mouse!

I guess, if it wasn't for cats and other predators, the earth would be overrun with mice. A very unpleasant world! So mouse breath isn't the same as rose breath?

Ahahahaaaa! Not quite, although I never would smell Doodles's breath after a kill. Actually, I can't bring myself to go near him as much as I love him.

Oh, no! A full bath is required. He tosses those nasty mice into the air. One actually landed on his back! No kisses from me for hours. His grampy will take him on his next walk for me.

Oh, no! Animals that are fed at home don't hunt for food, just sport. He did crunch too hard, and spit it out and made funny faces with his tongue. I had to give him lots of treats to get that mouse taste out of his little pink mouth. Just gross!!!!

I wouldn't be too happy with mouse breath either but Doodles needs to do his thing and catch those pesky mice so they don't find their way into the house
