Photographs and Memories

Most of the cellphones today are popular because of their high end cameras which customers of today want to have. Go Pro cameras are also such a hit now because of its cool specs and amazing features. In light of this, selfies, groupies, camera apps and picture editors have become a part of every person's life when on vacations or just having a good time. What makes me wonder though is that, when we take so much pictures to preserve memories and to share our happiness to the world, are we really able to enjoy that moment? I myself like taking pictures but what my friend said made such an impact to me. She told me that I don't have to take so much pictures in order to preserve memory and capture every little thing that's happening. She then asked me if how will I be able to savor the moment if I'm busy with the camera and not the experience. Maybe I was too preoccupied in wanting to capture things that I'm preventing myself from enjoying the now. What do you guys think?

I love to take photos, but your friend is right. We sacrifice the moment for the photo.

I too agree with you @1creekgirl The whole focus is to capture the moment and not to enjoy it

I love taking photos. When I had my ample time, I used to put all the traveling photos were attached to my personal blog. I must say that I had captured the moments.

@JeeyanDee I will take note of that. I used to blog it on my own blog site. But I don't have time to do it anymore.

That's good but don't allow yourself to be too occupied taking pictures that you forget to really enjoy.

True, but sometimes it also prevents us from making connections with the people around us. It's very common nowadays to see a family dining at a restaurant, all eyes on their own smartphones and not talking. It sometimes causes a rift between relationships.
