Some People Are A Sore Looser

Normally it is a child that hates to lose at a game. However, this time it isn’t. I belong to a question and answer site. People can ask any question they want and others help them by finding the answers. I enjoy this because it is challenging and fun. However, there is one person on the site that hates to lose. They always have to have more answers than anyone else. Many times I see that this person will read the answers of another and use these answers to answer the question. They have to be on top. I ran out of time and didn’t go there for a few months. I like to research my answers to give the person the best possible information I can. This takes time to give a good answer. This person on the other hand might not have an idea what the real problem is. But, they give some stupid answer just to get a point for answering the question. I have been monitoring the responses and tally to the answer so far this month. I noticed that another person on the site is doing well and has a lot of top answers. On the board the other night this other person had more answers than the rest. However, when I looked an hour later the sore loser had one more answer that this person. This person really hates to lose and always has to be on top. Do you know a sore loser in your life? If so how do you deal with this person? It sort of makes me laugh to see this. Don’t people like this irritate you at times?

now that we have the internet, i try to look up whatever the topic is to try to understand before giving an answer. sometimes i ask a question back, like if you did it that way or this way, what would happen, since they're the ones who knows the situation, alternatives, resources better.

@poehere yes i do notice and agree that some can be too competitive, sometimes to the point of vindictive. by the way, is the site you're in a paid site, too?

@hereandthere I do it for fun. I just like keeping my mind active. This is one way to make you think and see something new. Some of the questions are not so easy to understand and you really need to do some research to find a good answer. That is why I like it.

I am not sure what the competition is all about? Copying answers of others and posing those answers as your own is not in good taste. If that person copies your answers, I think it would be better to warn him.

I don't get it either. We are there to have fun like on here. On there it is for our pleasure only. They do keep track of how many answers you do in a month. I do it because I like to help people. Plus, this is an excellent way to learn new things through research. It is interesting for me to find some of these answers and learn from my research. If I have no idea the answer and I can't find a good response I just skip it. I do not answer just to be on top each month. But many times I see this person take part of my answer and give a short answer just for the sake of answering. I normally write a detailed answer and don't give a short sentence to the person.

@poehere - It is very bad on a part of any user to copy or steal your answer and submit it as his/her own answer, after modifying it. One should be original with one's thoughts and should be able to understand and comment on the discussion on his own.

@dpk262006 Yes I do agree. I guess this person just likes to be on top so they get there anyway they can. Even if it means taking part of an answer from another person and using it as your own. Sometimes there is only one answer or maybe you can have two or three different ways. It all depends on how you do this.

Being competitive can be a good thing and a bad one. I have known some sore losers in my life. It can be irritating if they get dramatic or stupid about it.

@poehere .....It's like drivers and road rage. Have to be in front. I don't mind losing for the same reasons. But I do find myself trying harder the next time.

@celticeagle I think it is good to try harder to get better and better yourself. Everyone does this because it is human nature.

I like competition. However, if someone is better than me then I am so happy. I don't get upset if I lose or someone can play the game better. It is just funny to see how a few people always have to win and be on top.

This is on another site and not this site. On here I don't find sore losers at all. Everyone is so nice and friendly and it is fun to interact with them.

Those people are a real pain, they want to have the last word all the time. I try to avoid them.

@LadyDuck Oh well, some people just have to be better than others. Guess this is what makes the world go round. We need all types to make a balance around here.

I am trying to ignore this person, but at the same time they make me laugh. So what if you come in second or third. You are helping people and that is what should count. Finding the best answer to help is what is all about.

It's ridiculous how some people are sore losers. They feel this need to win all the time, yet there's more to life than that.

I couldn't agree with you more. I sometimes do a snack for my friend at a Bingo Game centere. The game is so competitive and there are a lot of sore loser there.

Yes, you are right. In life I stay away from them. When I was a child and we played games I would never join in if there was a sore loser playing. I just did something else.

It's been a while since I've been around any sore losers. Most people I know are happy with what comes their way. It is a rather juvenile reaction on the part of the one person on your site. It makes it almost not worth going to the site. It would turn me off to see a sore loser and feel the competition of that person.

She seems over competitive if you ask me. If you have 10 and she has 5. Now she needs 30 so you have no way of catching up. Now how stupid can that one be? I just ignore her and leave her be. One day she will get tired and go away. They always do.

We all know this. Too bad some people don't. it drives me crazy to see a sore loser on a question and answer site. We are not fighting to be first. We are there to give the best possible answer to help someone out with their problems.

In life this is easy. On the answer site it is funny to see this. I just don't get why they have to always be first. I think they were never taught as a child that being first always is not good sportsmanship. Who knows.
