A Good Kitchen Tip

I saw this tip this morning on the Today show with chef Curtis Stone. He was giving some tips and this one hit home with me. Do you find your cutting board sliding around when you are trying to work on it? I do and it's so annoying. No matter what I'm doing....slicing, dicing or whatever my board just keeps sliding around. Well, his tip is so simple. Put a damp paper towel under the cutting board and it will keep it from sliding. Wow why didn't I ever think of that? Next time I use my cutting board I'm definitely going to try this tip.

thanks for the tip.But we do not have any problem with our sliding around. The only thing sliding around is me.

That is an excellent tip. Most of mine have little rubber disks on the bottom, but I learned to place a damp dish towel under the ones that slide. I like your tip better. Less laundry!

My cutting boards don't have little rubber tips so they slide all the time. Yes less laundry for a damp paper towel rather than a dish towel.

@Marilynda1225 Our "good" ones from Vermont maple have the tips. We only use those for certain things like slicing bread, etc.

Well that is a good tip but it must depend on the material of the cutting board. I have a wooden cutting board and it never slides around.

Maybe wood doesn't slide? Mine are plastic and slide all around. However, when I saw the tip this morning he was using a wooden cutting board

All of mine have little feet on the bottom to prevent slippage. I've seen that tip many times and it does work I tried it a long time ago.

I think I saw this tip once upon a time on another of those morning shows. Only that time I think it was a wet cloth. It's a good tip.
