Today was the monthly check up for Tony, First I would like to say he is in full remission and he is taking Ocdivo immune therapy because it`ll help stop cancer from returning. Now while he was taking the IV I talk to people, in the waiting area and in the room they hook them all up for chemo and immune therapy. And let me tell you, Do not judge a book by its cover. I know you have heard men say " great body but can`t deal with crazy!" I met crazy today. No one is allowed to stay in the chemo room, I went in said hello and reminded them NOT to give Tony anything sweet, like a real coke and cookie because he was so sick last time from his blood sugar being 300, I am the caretaker so.... And I went back to the waiting room. I know it`ll be an hour. An hour passed so I went back when he did not come out, he liked maybe 5 minutes so the new lady hooked up next to him began to talk to me about her dog. Told me how her toy chuwawa things... one of those taco dogs I cant spell it. Anyways that it`ll curl up by her face but wont look at the port in her shoulder. I explained that my pets stay outside ( some don`t know but dealing with animal feces and urine can cause death in chemo patients) and then she told me hers was clean, she dolled it up with pink bows and painted nails. Okay, I have sen this before and even though the nurse had just told her about handling pets, she seems to not care. Tony is done and is being unhooked and the IV removed. So ........ here comes the crazy out. I used my best poker face. She told me about how her dog would play with a squeak toy and then pretend to be the toy and make noises when poked. A ll I could think to say was my dog chews those up. Well tony was talking to the nurse about calling one of his cat a puppy and then telling it to roll over and stuff, yes its true but he named it puppy, Anyways the woman heard Tony and said to me " Oh and my dog pretends he is a cat, its so sweet " and then she jumps up and said " I have to go pee!" The nurse stops tending to Tony and grabs the plug in and pulling it out of the wall to follow the woman as she pulls her IV tight, like she is not even hooked to anything! I took this as my get away, the nurse quickly wrapped Tony`s arm where he was holding down the pad with pressure. I will tell you what, she looked as normal as everyone else and then she spoke, no she was not old, nor young but very not sane. Who pokes their dog to make it squeak? And it acts like a cat? WTH? Ever run into this type?
