Piping Hot French Baguettes

The other day on MyLot I read an article about Thomas English Muffins and starting feeling a little deprived living here on the islands. It made me start thinking of all we don’t have here on the islands. Then I realized I have something that you don’t have. I have, piping hot French baguettes delivered to my market 5 times a day. We don’t have Sourdough, Hawaiian, Rye or even Wheat bread on our islands. But, we do have piping hot French Baguettes. We don’t have English Muffins, Pita Bread, Tortillas, or even Onion Bread. But like I said we do have piping hot French Baguettes. So now I don’t feel so bad because I have a piping hot French Baguette each morning for my breakfast. All I have to do is walk next door and pay 53 cents for my baguette. Yes, that is how much we pay. Not even a dollar for the best baguette in the world. Have you ever tasted a real French Baguette before? They are worth dying over. They deliver to our markets 5 times a day. The bins are filled with hot baguettes that you can take home or eat on your way home. Nobody can resist a French Baguette. Once you try one you will never go back to the French Bread they sell in your markets.

When I saw your title I said to myself, "What the heck is French Baguette?" Now I don't feel so bad about not knowing. Well, I guess it's a trade off. We have good donuts and you have good French Baguette.

I still miss my donuts. But, yes the bread here is delicious. so I made a joke out of it. I thought people would find this really funny.

@poehere Yes, it was a bit funny about all the breads you didn't have but you do have one bread that is superior.

@RichardMeister Well, that is basically all the bread we have on the islands. They do make a sandwich bread with honey. This is not so good. I was just being funny when I kept reminding people that we do have a delicious French bread here on our islands. I used baguette to be funny. Some people know what it is and some don't. It just means bread in a loaf that is all.

They are delicious. I've had piping hot French Baguettes in several countries. I don't eat them for breakfast. We do have fresh piping hot Italian bread delivered to our little farm market. Again, I don't eat them for breakfast. Enjoy! At least you do have something delicious and inexpensive. lol

I don't eat breakfast either. However, my boyfriend can eat 1 of these for breakfast, another one at lunch and one more at dinner. He is such a bread person. Not me. I love Italian bread, but we don't have it here. So guess what I don't eat this for breakfast either.

@poehere Carbs aren't good for our figures anyway. No big deal. Just give me a hot cup of coffee and I'm happy - and awake. lol

@DianneN I don't seem to have that issue. Everyone is trying to feed me tons of them but I don't like it. I love the bread, but only here and there. I was never a bread eater.

@LeaPea2417 It is good to have more, but we don't have large bakeries on the islands. That is why we only have our French Bread.

Me too. Tonight I crushed some fresh garlic and mixed it with butter. Spread on the French baguette and put it in the oven. It was delicious.

You've got that one right. They make the best bread in the world. They claim it is the flour.

I never had tasted piping hot French Baguettes. I do not have bread for breakfast. So Mexican food with hot sauce is your favorite.

@silvermist Mexican food is rather simple to make and so is hot sauce. I can make it here on the islands because I know how to make my own flour tortillas.

I never had a piping hot French Baguette but would gladly trade my English Muffins. It must be really nice to be able to walk next door and buy some anytime you want.

You were the one who gave me this idea. I sat there reading about your English muffins and thought about them and how I use to love them. Yes I have a market right next door to my house.
