Doesn't it seem that the "holidays" as some call these (we don't think of Halloween as a holiday) are pushed on us earlier each year? Several local stores have Halloween items on display, so we figure Christmas items will be available before Labor Day. Yes, stores want to get a jump on Halloween or whatever other day is coming our way that will allow someone, somewhere to make a few dollars. Are you seeing Halloween items for sale near you this month?

Yes, Halloween items are coming out. Nobody wants to think about Halloween this early. Christmas displays will soon be out too. It looks silly to me.

I am seeing Halloween items everywhere and also Thanksgiving items. What happened to waiting until a holiday is closer and quit shoving the nest holiday at us so soon.

@PatZAnthony I agree but the merchants seem to think they have to get their money as fast as they can. The more they sell the more they can put out. I just wish things wasn't always hurry, hurry , hurry.

I haven't seen any, yet, thank goodness! As much as I love Halloween, I find that absurd and depressing.

I noticed that . The Halloween stores usually don't open til the very end of August, but we discovered this year they are already open! Places like Dollar Tree and 99Cent Stores are already stocking the shelves with this stuff. Today we went to a decor shop and I could not believe it was decked out in Halloween galore already. I love Halloween, but I'm not ready for this right now.

Wondering if these items are left from the previous year @much2say If not, what do they do with all of that junk at the end of the season?

I've seen it in a few stores, but not many, just the candy. It doesn't bother me though; I'm ready for fall and the Halloween season, but that's just me.

Those in the photo are more Autumn decorations than Halloween decorations, we will see them in the stores as soon as the kids are back in school, at the end of this month.

I know this is going to sound crazy but where I live, the Christmas season starts in September. Yeah, you read right. Radio stations start playing Christmas songs and you'll start seeing Christmas decorations in stores. I even know some people who have decorations up on the first. You also have countdown counters. Halloween, on the other hand, isn't as popular here so you won't really see a lot. You'll have a few halloween parties and trick-or-treat events for kids but not too big of a holiday.

We don't hear the music until November. One neighbor here goes all out early with decorations, but the rest really don't get involved. All of the stores here were loaded with Christmas now too @rosedust82

I haven't noticed any Halloween items on sale yet, but it wouldn't surprise if they were coming soon, if they're not already on sale. End of August and early September seems to early to have Halloween items for sale. It doesn't make too much sense to me, but that's just me.

I guess it's all about the profits. Making people feel excited ahead of time so that they'll stock up on more than they really need. I love Halloween though, it's my favourite time of year so I don't mind if the stock comes out early. It's when I see the Christmas gift display appear in September that I despair!
