I always buckle up when I am in a car. It's instinctive for me. Do you wear a seatbelt. Needless to say it is a safe practice and should become a habit.

The Philippines has a seat belt law, not buckling up is a violation and would get you fined

It's illegal for any person in a car not to be wearing a seatbelt here so of course I do. In fact, I feel uncomfortable driving a car if I am not wearing one (for example, off the public road in someone's driveway or something like that). I have met people who don't like to wear a seatbelt. The reason they usually give is that if the car turned over or caught fire, they would be trapped or lose time getting out or something like that. I don't consider that a valid reason (and, if I were driving, I would be legally responsible if any of my passengers weren't wearing one).

I've seen all kinds of excuses for not wearing a seat belt including some very rare possibilities like above.

@thehousewife unfortunately a lot of countries don't have that as a law or it's not enforced well.

We always use the seat belts even if its to go down the road. You get caught not wearing one here and you could be fined or even banned from driving for a time.

@pitstop A very tragic accident happened once and that sparked the seat belt law into force and huge fines if they catch you driving without one and its been known for them to take points off and possible jail in some cases all depends.

Of course, I do. In Germany, you have to pay a fine if the police see you without a seatbelt.

Wearing a seat belt is the law here. You risk a ticket and fine if you don't.

Depending on your country the law and it's enforcement is quite variable.

People who have not worn seatbelts have been seriously injured or killed. Wearing one can aid in preventing a life threatening injury.
