Where Were You?

I just came across a travel brochure that I had saved from one of my FREE trips. So I know EXACTLY where I was from June 14-19, 1999. I was on the Carnival Cruise ship IMAGINATION. We left Miami, Florida at 4:00PM and sailed all night and all the next day until we docked at Grand Cayman at 7:00 AM. We spent the day there, visiting the Seven Mile Beach and enjoyed the Cayman Island Turtle Farm and a town called HELL. That was quite a treat as I remember. There was a man in the Post Office, where I picked up several post cards to mail, who was dressed up like what people think the Devil looks like, (horns and a tail) He said things like: “How in Hell are you?” “Where in Hell have you been?” “What in Hell are you doing here?” We had a few laughs. The post cards said funny things too, like “I’m in Hell. Wish You were here.” We also went on a boat to Stingray City where we were provided with snorkel gear and a supply of food to hand-feed the stingrays. That was fun. We left Grand Cayman at 4:00 PM and sailed on to Calica/Cancun, arriving at 11:30 AM and staying there until midnight. We took a ferry ride to Cozumel too. On the ship there was non-stop FOOD of all sorts and we could choose to dress up and go to the elegant dining room or dress casual and dine on the Lido Deck in the “Seaview Bistro” for a buffet meal. Every evening we enjoyed Vega-style revues in the clubs and lounges and danced until after midnight. I also went to the karaoke bar, of course, and sang a few songs. It was a wonderful cruise. I’m glad I found the brochure and I’m hoping to find some of the other brochures from my trips. I’m sure that I saved them all. The brochures will have dates, which I need for my memoirs. The IMAGINATION cruise was just one of SIX cruises that I have taken, as well as many other FREE trips that I earned from my company.

Yes, it was a nice time. I've been on several cruises, but I don't expect to go on any more. I'm just not able to deal with all the hassle at the airport and otherwise. I had my traveling years and enjoyed many trips but I'm satisfied now to stay close to home.
