No Smoking In This Car

I used to smoke, I was a heavy smoker of 2 1/2 packs a day and I quit cold turkey, and for years everyone around me smoked and I did not mind unless it was a lot in a closed space. When Tony quit 9 1/2 months ago because of cancer I got used to not being around anyone smoking and the new used car I bought in Dec. has never been smoked in. My sister is supposed to be quitting and I took her with us today to vote and her to shop. I can smell it on her but she only took 2 puffs of a cigarette when we stopped. I think she knows no smoking in this car. I still have my old P.T. Cruiser and I wonder how do I get that smell out of that car?

We don't allow any to smoke in any of our vehicles and haven't for many years. No one is allowed to smoke in our house (of course). Some get offended, but we don't care. Probably the item that @TiarasOceanView suggested will work!

That is a very good rule to have and one I follow also. I am so sensitive to the smoke. One can tell immediately if there is a smoker nearby. The smell is horrible!

@andriaperry Our place is finally pretty aired out. I quit a long time ago and then let stress get to me after 5 years and started again, smoked for another 9 years and then quit by vapping this time. I dont know why but I could not do cold turkey this time, stress maybe.

It was a good thing that you stopped smoking... But it would have been better if everyone around you stop also as you have done in order to avoid the regeneration of it

Maybe you can use Febreze Fabric Softener or Air Refreshener sprays. Good for you! My brother and I both live in a smoke-free environment.

I hate smoking and whenever I ride on a bus and the driver start smoking I try my best to leave that seat and take breath from mouth instead of nose

I can't stand the smell of smoking. So glad none of us smoke, and people know to smoke outside our house and not in our car.

I'm glad you and Tony both stopped smoking and hope your sister does, too. Neither my husband nor I smoke anymore. He quit way before I did, and no one we know smokes. It's disgusting and politically incorrect. All our cars are smoke free, and I wouldn't know how to get that odor out of any car, especially with leather interior.

The P.T. Cruiser does have leather interior! its a limited edition , maxed out with sun and moon roof. Tinted windows... the works. That is why I want to keep it and repair the small stuff. I am thinking the a/c ducts need to be cleaned and a new filter put in, that is one thought.

I used to smoke also, and I loved to smoke behind the wheel. After I quit we went to non-smoking only vehicles. Its not safe being in a small space like that with smoke. Have you tried those cardboard air fresheners, the new car smell might help get rid of the smoke smell. Or you could use febreze on the upholstery.

I have no idea. Probably why I've known smokers that won't allow it in their own cars. Too hard to get it out.

When I traveled and someone wanted to smoke in the back seat I said no to smoking in the car even though I did because it was to much, we stopped and had smoke breaks.
