An Ungrateful Son

I used to work for some voluntary cause. One of the elderly which we helped had a pretty sad story. She used to work as a servant to a rich family. She had two sons. One of her sons was successful, the other not so much. She is currently living with her son.(he was left by his wife) One day, she was diagnosed with some health condition. Her successful son's wife convinced him not to use the money to treat his mum. She ended up having to use a wheelchair because his son did not fund the operation. After raising her sons, this was the result. Her son visits her only once a year with his family and left her barely enough money to use. Needless to say, I was pretty angry that her son treated her that way after funding his education and raising him as a single mum. What do you guys think?

One day the son with money and his wife will regret being so ungrateful and it would all be too late for them to mend...

That son is too cruel to treat his suffering mother like that... I pity the woman for being treated that way...

What goes around comes around, I believe. It is very sad that he could do that to his mom.

I have no idea. Perhaps she is unwilling to think for the mother in law.

It has become quite common these days to ignore the parents. I hope he realises soon before it is too late

It so sad, that why I don't blame parents who takes Te their to study their son's fiancee character and background extensively or parents who influenced their children wedding. The son will pay for it no doubt about that.

I mean the son is a grown adult who should be able to make the decisions for himself.

That is awful. When kids end up that way, I bet it makes the Mom think "why did I ever have kids to begin with"?

Correct. The Mom still loves her son and her grandparents. However, she felt betrayed.

Maybe, there is a reason why her son left her. We don`t know her whole story but I strongly believe that the son should not abandon his sick mother. Whatever his reasons are, they are not a valid excuse to leave his mother especially in this kind of situation.
