Too much meat in one day

When my husband or I make hamburgers, we make them extra fat , much fatter than the kind you get at a fast food restaurant. Yesterday, I made some for lunch since my husband was off work. He ate one for lunch and then he ate one for dinner. He asked me if I wanted another for dinner and I said "no". I would eat a salad, which I did. He asked me why not have another one? I said, because that would be eating too much meat in one day. I would prefer to eat one fat hamburger one day and eat the other one the next day for lunch. He said to me "suit yourself". My question is "am I odd"? I just feel like I shouldn't eat so much meat in one day. I need to have variety in my food each day, round it out with meat, vegetables and fruits.

I love meat and burgers, I could eat 2 in a day. Lol. I'm probably the odd one though but it's okay. =)

Not odd. We all like our eating a certain way. I will have two burgers in one meal, but not one for lunch and one for dinenr.. as I only have beef once a day, same with chicken, and bread. So if I plan to have lasagna and Italian bread for dinner then I won't have a sandwhich or burger for lunch. You know?

According to the health experts one serving per day and it should be about the size of a deck of playing card. I try not to eat any red meat, cholesterol ya know.

My parents say that the older they get, the less they eat in general.

Yes, it would be boring to have the same food at each meal, unless you really love or crave for it. We are omnivores, not carnivores, after all.

We eat read meat only a few times a month and only lean meats. If you like to eat fat meat and you feel well doing this, I see no reason why to renounce.

I assume by 'fat' you mean thick, not fatty? We will always eat beef, but we cut back on the amount and we don't eat it twice in the same day. I would not worry if anyone thinks I'm odd, I am! I think 3-4 ounce serving is fine.

Yes, it is a big meat patty. We always try to get the leanest meat.

No, I agree, it is better to have a variety in your meals for the day. If I know I am going to have meat for dinner, I don't eat meat for lunch.

i also cant eat beef for more than one meal a day or 2 or 3 days in a row. it makes me feel bloated. i eat a lot of chicken and turkey when i get tired of beef. at least once a week its some sort of fish, whether its tuna or fish sticks.

Well-planned choice of satisfying meals. Traditional nutritious cooking, like my great grand mother did, still remains in the family. No modern unhealthy cooking oils in the mix. I think you're fine. You feel good about your home cooking?

I'm like that also. I want a little variety in my meals. However it does save time when it comes to preparing your next meal.
