Yesterday on the radio I heard these words by Heather Heyer's mother,
"Let's find that spark of conviction, find what's wrong and say to yourselves, 'What can I do to make a difference?"
I have been thinking and thinking. What can I do to make a difference? I don't know yet, but I will find a way to make my little part of the world better. I can't do big things but I can do something.
My heart goes out to Heather's family; they will never be the same. And yet, they are thinking of the good that can be done in the world.
I always admire families who do good things in the memory of their loved ones.
Family members of the young woman mowed down while protesting a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville used her funeral as a rallying cry, telling mourners the best way to honour Heather Heyer is to continue her fight against injustice. "Let's find tha

Too many people these days just want to spread the hate and that will never lead to peace.

You can make a difference in your everyday routines and interactions. Show love to all people, regardless of faith, nationality, race or creed. Smile and say hello to strangers as you pass them on the street. Offer to buy someone in line with you a coffee. There are many small things you can do everyday. You may not think it means much, but to that one person you interact with, you may have just made their whole day, or even their week!

I think this might be the end for Trump. More and more lies are coming out from him. Heather will never be forgotten.

Yes, spreading love and compassion begins at home. So much better than those who profess hate towards anyone.

That is wonderful that you are trying to think of something small you can do to make a difference. Here what I've been doing for the past few months is painting rocks and hiding them for others to find. It is part of the kindness project. I'm not sure if you have heard of it.

There is too much hate in the world today. Every time I turn on the news there are stories concerning mass shootings, hate rallies, or senseless killings in our area. Let's hope that one day the positive can outweigh all of the negative.

Hippies were hoping for the same things back in the late 1960s and look where we are now @Shellyann36 it hasn't really changed all that much.

I think doing little things ... is just as important as the bigger things... as you never know where the effects of your ' little bit' will end up...

I never understand why some people choose evil over good and hate over love. I do admire her alot and we should all try to make the world a better place.

@paigea Every time you make someone's day you are doing good. That can be a smile to a stranger who may have been having a bad day and your smile made him or her feel good, buying a stranger's cup of coffee, opening a door for someone, reading to those in a nursing home, picking up trash along the shore line of lakes and rivers, working food banks, and so much more. It doesn't have to be big campaigns or protest. The small things really make a huge difference. Do it from the heart. When you pass along kindness, it makes the world much better.
