How to get over sadness?

Sometimes we feel very different in our life. Something is moving in the mind always which is making us sad. We can't have control over that. I am passing with this situation for a few days. When I spend time with my friends, these useless thoughts never come to my mind. But I have to be alone for hours when I become sad thinking of many things which have passed, thinking of the things which I have lost. I want to get over all these. My some attempts are useful..but unless I don't weep I remain sad..after weeping I feel really good..is it depression or sadness..I think it's sadness.. How can I get over it.? This is disturbing me very much these days..

I have been had same situation, I was very sad and I just sit in a room, turned off the light, laid on my bed and cry and think, don't wanna do anything. It was my depression, and it's a psychology illness and there are no any medicine can solve. You have to get over it by yourself. Forget it is very hard, you have to change. Change is the only way to get out of it. Do you wanna sleep right now? Ok, so take a long sleep until you not sleepy anymore then wake up and change. Don't let your life boring over and over again. STAND UP AND DO SOMETHING!! Like take a shower to make your new life (um... i don't know, just my idea) then Sm;)e... and do the things that you need or should do. Just that, I hope you an get yourself better

I think it's depression because it has bothered you for several days. Sadness can easily be gotten rid of by new happy events or just watching shows that you enjoy, or doing stuff that you enjoy. But when you lost the will to enjoy doing the things you used to enjoy, then I think that's already depression.
@anshu i had also faced these type of situations many time for me the best thing to do at that time is to cry out so all my pain can be out through my tears.so you also do the same and just cry out and then make yourself busy in work which you love to do while you are sad . Like i love to do sketching . Try it may be its gonna work for u too.
You are ok when you are surrounded with people. So being alone is your problem. Make good friends and involve in some activities always. It can be reading, writing, playing anything. If you believe in God then praying can be a solution for your problem.
