SCARED!

Scared to walk on the street when it's dark; Scared to take the kids to the park. Scared to chill with friends in the mall: Danger! - even in a university's hallowed halls. What is happening in the world today? Killing and maiming - is that the only way? Are we to become prisoners in our homes? Too scared to step out -- too scared to roam? A scary future lies ahead; Soon we may feel very unsafe - even in our beds.

People will be scared to travel and that will be bad for the tourist industry as well.

@Kandae11 Last week I was talking to my husband and said "Spain seems to be safe"... well the last famous words.

Yeah, took a walk last night and not going to lie. I was a bit apprehensive about California drivers before because they straight rude, careless and self absorbed, but seeing them all as a weapon that could kill me is a bit unnerving because someone is unhinged.

It's the when, how and where that makes it scarier, I think we need to be prepared but at the same time we have to go on with our daily lives.

@Kandae11 our government is still fighting a months long war on a group of terrorists that occupied a Southern city and has some hostages, something that was unthinkable before.

To be honest, I would be scared to be in any huge gathering - but then terrorists could strike even in a quiet cafe, on the bus, anywhere.

It is unsafe I agree, but you know after years of being vigilant, I am fed up with that and just think well if it is my time to go, then so be it. I am obviously not going to run to danger, but I am not being a prisoner for it either.

@Kandae11 Yes for that is what the terrorist want is for everyone to be filled with great fear and staying in.

That is the right attitude. Even after those few incidents in London, the Olympic stadium was filled to capacity every night during the recently concluded world games.

@Kandae11 It does have a bright horizon though - Jesus is coming back! I think about that with everything that is going on.

A lot of people are afraid to do a lot of things anymore. Can they be blames? No, one never knows what will happen when they do venture out.

Dang good poem @Kandae11 and sadly the truth in today's world. Back in the day, night-time was the worry. Not today. Weirdo stuff happens in the morning, afternoon, evening.

We give in if we stop living our lives. Here we are in Boston and guess who will be here today? The White Supremests! We are staying as far from them as possible, which isn't very far.

Sadly this is the way of the world. Sad but true. It never stopped us going about our daily lives when the IRA were bombing London. We can all play a part in this and reporting our suspicions to the police and security services. It is as much our responsibility as it is for our own safety!
