@LadyDuck I think I injured my retinas from the glare of the moon this morning! That's the last time I look at a lunar eclipse!

I hope you realize my discussion was a joke...our solar eclipse doesn't take place until Monday. But that's all that everyone has been talking about for the past month, and I'm getting tired of hearing about it. So I thought I'd have a little fun with it. Decided to create my own lunar eclipse!

Whatever takes everyone's mind off of Trump! hahaha

@lnillerman I am not saying anything good or bad about our President. Was just pointing out that he has been at the center of all the news stories this past couple of weeks.

@moffittjc Honestly I didn't pick up on that either. But that is very funny. And what makes it worse for me is that I know the eclipse is on Monday. LOL.

@lnillerman I'm a huge space freak myself. It's been a long time since I've watched a good meteor shower!

Nobody has caught the fact that I claimed to have viewed the eclipse this morning, but it doesn't actually take place until Monday! haha I was making fun of the entire process. I saw the crescent moon when I went to work this morning, and decided to have a little fun with it.

@moffittjc At least that's a break from work. So it hasn't become a national holiday yet, eh?

The way everybody in this country is freaking out about the eclipse, I don't think anyone will let me forget about it on Monday. I'm pretty sure at the time of the total eclipse, the bosses will probably close the office and make all of us employees go outside to see the eclipse. I'm kind of hoping it will be cloudy that day, so it will be a big anti-climax after weeks and weeks of anticipation! haha

I remember looking at that eclipse when I was a little kid. Our teachers wouldn't let us look up at the sun, so we made these contraptions out of paper and cardboard and had to "see" the eclipse by looking at the shadow's cast on the cardboard. I'm probably not explaining it right, but I was just a little kid! haha

@moffittjc That is interesting. I have read about making those but haven't seen them.

@moffittjc I will watch it on TV before I pay $20. My good old frugal nature. I wonder if some of those people will be stuck with glasses they bought to sell and had no takers. And they are worthless as of tomorrow afternoon!

I don't have any plans to do anything out of the ordinary, but if I happen to be outside or something when it occurs, I'll check it out. The funny thing is, we have a 70% chance of rain this afternoon, and the weather forecasters are saying that it is supposed to be cloudy here all day today. So we'll most likely not even get to see it at all!

@ramapo17 It ended up being a beautiful day here during the eclipse, with a gorgeous blue sky and not a cloud in sight! I was certainly glad the weather forecasters got it totally wrong once again!

@moffittjc we didn't get any rain here in Melbourne and I never went out to water my plants either. I am so use to having rain and not needing to do it myself. I guess tomorrow I will be outside early so I don't see many wilting leaves.

@moffittjc Ha Ha So what are you going to write about that song? Do you know what day it is?

@velvet53 I think I am going to refrain from writing anything about that song. Hey, did you know that Bonnie Tyler is going to sign that song live during the eclipse? I think that is really cool!

Haha, I probably won't even get to see the eclipse on Monday! They're predicting that it will be too cloudy to see!

@moffittjc I just don't like hearing about the same thing over and over.

@CookieMonster46 That is true. They've been talking about this eclipse over and over and over again, and saying the same old thing every single time. Don't look directly at the sun, blah, blah, blah.

Well, I would rather hear about the eclipse than to listen to all the other bad news out there about how the world is going to hell and falling apart all around us!

Are you suggesting you are going to use your x-ray vision to take a peak at what's under my clothes? Geez Dianne, you don't have to do that, all you have to do is ask! Besides, I figure after all those tequila shots we'll be skinny dipping in your pool! haha

It's very interesting that different parts of the world see eclipses at different times.

@moffittjc That was something I have never experienced like that before it was very dark and strange to be sure. I suppose it does not come out how one thinks that it should come out all the time.

I remember during the last eclipse how disappointed I was. I expected it to get totally dark out like it was nighttime, but instead it looked more like what it would look like on a cloudy day.

@lovinangelsinstead21 No matter what, it's still going to be a pretty neat phenomenon to watch. It's not something that people get to see every day.

Where I live it is expected to be about 85-90% totality.

It might be a little hard to type on the keyboard, you know with the blindness and all.

@ramapo17 You wouldn't believe how many times I get told that on a daily basis! I seem to lose things that are right in front of me, and then get frustrated when I can't find them. "Just open your eyes dummy, it's right there in front of you!" haha I hear it all the time!

@moffittjc Maybe you should try opening your eyes.

I stood outside all afternoon today looking up at the sun waiting for the eclipse to start, only to be informed that the eclipse was yesterday! Haha, just kidding! I got to view the eclipse yesterday and it was awesome!

I'll probably be that dummy that looks up at the eclipse!
