Today to get out of the house and to exercise Tony we went to the Bass pro shop and walked the whole store. It was a plus that the a/c was awesome there because with heat index it was 103 degrees. At the back of the store they have this thing set up to win gift cards. After filling out the form the guy hits you up with the "take a trip" sales pitch, 4 days and 3 nights for $199 and it not a bad deal but not today. When I said no not right now he said he would sweeten the deal and give me back $150 in gift cards. Meaning I would only be out of $50 in cash, or credit. I declined. No they still get my money because I would have to use the gift cards there, I told the guy to get Hawaii on that list and I will throw down $199 without the sales pitch. For the most part the trip only covered certain Southern states and its a time share thing. Ever get hooked into one of these deals?

No I don't get sucked into sales deals like that. My husband likes the Bass Pro Shop in Atlantic City but we rarely go down there now that the LUSH shop is gone. We have beaches here and we aren't gamblers.

I love Bass Pro. I have been hooked into one, or should say my ex was, and it turned into a nightmare later. He bought in and I went along with it only for the dues to be extreme after paying out $10K and went from $80 every three months to $165. Then they went bankrupt, Diamond bought them and they told us to use them we needed to upgrade. I said no. I tried to give it away and no one would take it. I let it go. I was threatened with foreclosure (laughable) on it. My ex was supposed to take it over and get my name off in the divorce and didn't. I will never do timeshares again.

@andriaperry No, it was back in the early 2000's I think and I mailed off a snail mail for a truck sweeps not reading the fine print. I was called and offered a free three night weekend at the Cancun in Las Vegas by Monarch and only had to go to a 90 minute presentation and we'd get a $100 VISA to spend too. My ex wanted to go. Next thing we had the contract.

@noni1959 Ohhh, I did one of those back in the 90`s when I was approached on the beach in P.C. Florida. I got a free camera and a gift card to a local store, I bought gas with that card.

Nope, when salesmen approach me I just keep walking and don't make eye contact, or I tell them my husband makes all the decisions and walk away. I don't even give them the chance to make their sales pitch.

@andriaperry My dad is like that. He'll carry on a conversation with someone in the middle of the store like they're old friends, then afterwards if you ask who that was, he'll say he has no idea.

I have heard horror stories about the company that Bass Pro Shops contracts to sell those timeshare deals in their stores. Those people are ruthless and just won't leave you alone. It's such a shame, because Bass Pro Shops is such a great store, but I often cringe at going shopping there because I don't want to be harassed by those timeshare people the entire time I'm trying to browse.

@andriaperry I just tell them to get out of my face before I punch them. That usually does the trick.

@andriaperry - This was for a home loan. My girlfriend at the time wasn't too pleased with me when she found out how I got the shirt.

@andriaperry I did take time out day at the grocery store to listen to a presentation on a pillow and that is unusual for me.
