Walking Kobe This Afternoon

While I was walking Kobe today, he acted so rambunctious! For some reason, he kept pulling like crazy, which definitely kept me on my toes. Years back this happened and I lost my balance, fell into the pavement, and I ended up with a broken pinky finger:( Of course, Kobe has no recollection of this, but I sure do! Anyway, it was quite a challenge taking our walk today. Other days, he seems to be more relaxed, which makes our time together a lot more enjoyable!:) This is a photo of him, last fall.

Yes, I can see he is a bulldozer @kobesbuddy hopefully you won't have any trouble walking him. I had to take Mykey to a trainer so that I could be trained how to train him and once I did that Mykey never pulled me again. It was worth it.

@rebelann Kobe is so loving, but he's not completely trained. If he sees another dog, he jerks me in that direction.

I had to look up for the meaning of rambunctious, thanks to you I learned about a new word :) Glad you are okay after the walk with Kobe today, I hope he learns to be relaxed on his walks

What a pretty pup! Seems like he was just wanting to play. Do you use a harness or just a leash?

@DesirousDreamer Just a leash, which usually works fine:)

@kobesbuddy That is good. Harnesses are pretty good, it prevents them from pulling too much

He is all muscle! Be careful when he gets like that. Our Springer Spaniel dragged my son down the street when he was 8 years old - on his belly!

@kobesbuddy Yikes! Now that is scary! You're a wisp of a woman and Kobe is all muscle and energy. My son is tough. He was fine, thank goodness. Just a few scrapes.

How old is he? At heart, he must be a puppy, but his size and strength don't seem telling the same. Glad you didn't get hurt this time.

@Susan2015 Yesterday, Kobe spotted a little dog and off he went, right after it! The poor thing was in its own yard:( Kobe got a good nose full, sniffed all over its body, then he wanted to go walking again:)

Kharla, maybe Kobe spotted a squirrel to chase after. Whenever I took my dog for a walk it was like he was walking me. I was never good at training her to walk next to me or by me. She always pulled on her chain. I had one of those long ones too. Whenever she wanted to chase a cat I would tell her she had one at home and she did not have to chase any. She found a ball once and was so excited so i took the ball and told her after I clean it off when we get home she can have it to play with. I did not know where it came from so wanted it clean for her to play with.

@theBlock Yes, when Kobe was a pint sized pup, I'd wrap him in a special blanket and hold him in my arms like a baby! Four years later, I'm the one wrapped up in the little blankie, while he's out picking a fight with the neighbor dog, through a chain-link fence!Where did I go wrong, with that sweet little lap dog?

@lovinangelsinstead21 After getting injured three times, I quit walking him. Then, I started taking Kobe for short jaunts, inside the back-yard fence. Little by little, I'm able to control Kobe better.
